Art and garden
10/2018 • Pariskunnat
We enjoyed the casa museo Antonio Padron. We fell in love with his art style, his colours and his motivs. All strong features of the local people and local life. A poetic view of things and people painted with alot of feeling.
The museum has a great garden where one can seat by the blue fpuntain and breathe in a little nature. After that one can visit the studio his drawing room where he received other artists, friends and buyers. Thats where we see the work of other artists hanging on the walls plus a few of his sculptures. Upstairs was his studio and there is a fantastic energy to the place. Thumbs up for the visit. The first weekend of every month the entrance is free of charge. Way to go!

A real delight

Used tickets from Cueva Pintada for entrance. Had seen some of his work at San Antonio Abad un Verguete, Las Palmas. A real delight. Permanent exhibition of Padrón's paintings, his studio and also temporary exhibitions by other Canarian artists. There is also a small garden where you can sit.

Delighful little museum with bright paintings

A small but perfectly formed museum dedicated to one artist. It is arranged in his home, and set around a pleasant garden/courtyard. The artwork is thoughtful and genuinely pleasant to look at. The staff are kind, and you can get a free ticket to visit if you go to the Archaeology Museum first, which I did.

Lovely small art gallery

A thoroughly enjoyable way to spend an hour. I had never heard of the artist before so did not know what to expect but really loved the work. It is very accessible. The ambiance of the whole building and garden is very relaxing. We got a friendly welcome and there are useful digital info screens that explain some of the pictures. It only costs one or two euros entrance fee.

An oasis in the middle of the town
3/2017 • Pariskunnat
This gallery houses a collection of Pedron's paintings which whilst to everyone's taste houses his studio and a pretty courtyard garden.
You can buy a joint ticket for admission to this and the nearby caves, or a 3 museum ticket if you are staying in the NW of the island as the third one is in Moya. We actually bought a 6 museum ticket which on reflection was a mistake as we couldn't find one of the museums in Telde and another in Las Palmas was closed on a Monday.

Excellent innovative museum /Museo innovador en permanente evolución

This House-Museum of Antonio Padrón is not only worth the visit for the work of Padrón on display (including his magnificent garden, much reduced from its original size but still an oasis of calm) but also on account of its being a participative museum with something new and innovative relating to the local culture on view. You can check it out all day round so make it a morning, afternoon or evening visit, coinciding with the other attractions in the area and the local restaurants that are out of this world.

Calm oasis with vibrant paintings

We loved the paintings by this indigenous artist - vibrant and dynamic. The gallery was well laid out with information on each painting in English as well as Spanish. Lovely cool courtyard garden and the artist's studio was an amazing light-filled space which made us envious!

Entry was free as we paid to go into the Cueva Pintada (painted Cave) nearby.

A beautiful home art museum.

Right in the middle of the town a well decorated house and garden with lots of pictures and the painter´s studio. Two separate buildings and a very polite male steward to show you around.
