Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Andy is a warm person with a great knowledge about the local life. Biking through backstreets, he took us to hoods far away from "Shibuyastyle". We loved the tour taking us to Nakano, Asagaya and Koenji and returned to area in the evening after great tips! See you next time!

Hi "Daydream", Thanks again for being resilient and coming out in the rain that day, it was a brilliant little group!! Really happy that you based yourselves at BnA in Koenji for the stay and enjoyed exploring the local area. All the best with establishing those educational connections and if you're ever back in town be sure to say hello, it'd be great to catch up! Cheers, Andy!

I had previously been to Tokyo a few times for work, and was looking for a different experience this time, away from the usual tourist attractions. So glad I found Andy’s tour. What an amazing and unique experience, cycling through the back streets, small alleys, and local neighbourhood!

Big kudos to Andy. Very attentive and great in communicating. Tokyo had been raining quite a bit leading up to the tour day, and Andy was personally messaging us to communicate and confirm if it was safe to continue, while giving us an option for full refund if we are not up for it. Super glad I went ahead despite being an amateur cyclist, and it was completely safe and enjoyable despite the light rain.

Lots of insights about local culture as well. Would definitely recommend Andy’s tour to those visiting Tokyo!

Hi Steffie, Thanks again for coming along on the Tokyo West-Side Cycling & Food Tour and showing your support! You guys were all tough that day battling through the intermittent showers, it was a really nice little group. Happy to hear that you found the ride safe and that you enjoyed the local insights. WOW, WOW, WOW
Family of four including our sons aged 12 & 10 and we all loved this tour!

It was the perfect amount of time, perfectly timed breaks, loads of food, a world of inside and great conversation.

I would say of all the activities we did on this trip, this would be one of my favourites.

Don’t think twice - Book this tour

Great to hear from you Tracey! Really happy to find out that the Tokyo West-Side Cycling & Food Tour was one of the family's favourite activities!! Everyone did an excellent job on the bikes bouncing around the narrow streets. Looks like you all had a brilliant time up in the snow and all the best to the boys with the new school year! Hope we get to cross paths again, Andy!

What a great experience! Cycling around the local streets was awesome, learning more about how daily life in Tokyo runs. Andy was an excellent guide and sorted us out with delicious snacks and lunch. Taught us a few eye openers about some of the micro cultures in Japan too 😂. Highly recommend.

This cycle tour was THE BEST! It was our first day in Japan and we hit Andy with all our questions while we explored the back alleys, laneways, river and some shops. We loved riding the bikes and exploring the city with a local. Some of the highlights were riding through local neighbour hoods and checking out housing/schools, eating at (and learning the etiquette) of a lunch counter, riding the extra comfy bikes, cruising the river and chatting with Andy about living in Japan. Wish it went all day!! Thanks Andy, we highly recommend this tour to others who are after a great intro to Tokyo and Japan.

This was an absolutely phenomenal experience! My family of 4 (two daughters ages 13 and 15) had a blast with Andy biking through the streets of Tokyo. I was a little apprehensive before the tour that we might be overwhelmed navigating the crowds and traffic but Andy took us on a route through the mostly calm back streets of Koenji and the surrounding neighborhoods. It was fascinating to see a side of Tokyo you just don't get when hitting the tourist hot spots. An added bonus was Andy's commentary as a long time resident about the daily life of raising a family in Tokyo, all while hitting some fantastic street food options. The standing Soba meal was a highlight of our trip. This is a tour not to be missed!

We had a great time! Learned so much about the culture and life in Tokyo and Japan at large. Interesting neighborhoods to cruise through as well as some scenic parks. The local food topped off the experience and enough exercise to balance out the eating! Highly recommend!

Brilliant must do experience in Tokyo. Andy Miller, owner of Dig Tours meets you at Koenji and gets you bike touring ready and off you wander through the beautiful back streets of Koenji, Asagaya, Zenpukuji River
and more bustling Nakano. Great route, well paced for us (early 60's) and frequent stops to explain culture and history. Frequent drink and great tasty treats. Gave us whole new insight into this vibrant and sometimes crazy beautiful city.
