A must see!

Step into a magical place, let the kids imagination run away. It can be quite sloppy, wear good shoes!

Amazing place so understated but fascinating to explore

Went to Huelgoat as part of a D-Day trail across France, parked up and found this place which although hardly signposted was lovely, great to explore. not always easy terrain and some of the ladders a bit slippy and dark but wonderful. kids would love it.

Great Photo opportunity

The chaos is exactly what it is, water from the lake flows through amongst huge boulders. Take a walk past the Cafe la Grotte, better still go in there first, great place to sit and relax with drink and take on the view of the Chaos, the Lake and passers by. Locals eat on there, crepes , day no more! Take the path alongside the Cafe and explore through the Chaos of boulders, take care as you exit with the tree roots underfoot. Keep going and you will see the sign for Roche Tremblant,be careful making your way down towards it when it is in view. Below to the right is a Bar/ Creperie, lovely place if you can out up with the wasps/ flies of the outdoors.

Very impressive

The walk is really wonderful and a MUST for every Brittany visitor. Start at the lake of Huelgoat and visit the Chaos du Moulin, the Groote du Diable, the Roche Tremblante (a stone with 137 tons, which can be osciliated) and Camp d'Artus.

This is the start of " Foret de Huelgoat" when i visited it was shut, maybe as it was February. There is really not much to see now, the wheel for the mechanism is not there more is the pity.

Beautiful watermill

Right at the start of the walk through Huelgoat Forest, you can find this Watermill. It's beautiful and shows a little bit of what you can expect of the rest of the forest: a small stream with lots of boulders and rocks, among tall trees.

While touring Brittany, we stopped off at Huelgoat, a tiny village in Morlaix and easily missed. Next to a lake and over the bridge we found Moulin du Chaos, what had been an old watermill, at the start of an impressive, fascinating and unusual rock formation. Locals told us of a walkable path, along an old lead/silver mine, that joins the national park. (Parc Naturel Regional d Amorique.) We explored this path, and discovered Devil's Cave, and the famous, in its own right "Trembeling Rock". Impress your children by making this 100 tonne rock move with the touch of a finger ! Further along the path was an old ampithetre, and another unusual rock formation shaped like a mushroom. Walkable with care, some stairs and rails around, but not everywhere. Children would need very close supervision, devils cave goes a long way down, some accessible huge boulders have a sheer drop the other side. As long as you are sensible this is a treat not to be missed.
Around the lake are places to stay and eat, with many serving French Crape's. The national park has camping and caravan facilities.
