Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited a number of falls in Dominica and this attraction undoubtedly had the easiest access both in terms of the path to get there and the ability to swim in a pool under the waterfall.

When we arrived in the morning, the visitor centre was completely closed but it is possible to walk through the centre to gain access to the trail. This is an easy and flat 10-minute walk though rain forest with some good information boards on the way down. It actually comes back in a partial loop so you see more of the rain forest on the return leg.

The falls are very picturesque in a lovely setting and in terms of the location, this was probably our favourite. There is a modest amount of scrambling over rocks to get to the pool under the waterfall but access is very easy.

The falls are pretty but it's definitely not a hike. If you're looking for an incredibly easy walk to see a waterfall, this is it. If you want to hike, this isn't it.

Well-maintained gravel pathway well marked. Easy 10 minute walk through Forrest to Pretty Falls with pool below. Can swim in pool below. Five dollar US entry fee per person. Take note if driving by car that all locations are twice as long to get to as GPS states as roads are paved but winding and narrow w drops on sides. Night driving is very hard

I love water falls and was surely onboard when my friends wanted to check this place out. The falls were beautiful and the hike downstairs to the falls isn’t too bad but you better be in shape for the return trek back up to the top of the falls. The path is wide, well maintained, and not slippery. There are some places to stop, sit and catch your breath if need be. I wouldn’t recommend making the journey to the bottom if your not in good health, it’s not horrid but not spectacular either, just very nice.

These falls are quite modest but are beautifully located over a small pond. The site has not yet fully recovered from the last hurricane but it is nevertheless very enjoyable and easily accessible. An interpretation center offers more information about the marrons history. The whole short and easy visit is very pleasant.

Short walk from the parking (10 minutes), but some training is required, especially for the return. You can take grat pictures and you can take a (not so) cold bath on the pool of the fall. Be aware, there are rocks and trees overthere, not to get hurt. Very special moment.

What I understood is it used to be a loop to get to this place. In mid August, he complete loop was not open yet when we went in August. You go down and return from the same path. A viewing platform was under construction. The fall, the pool are still there to enjoy. It is a small pool and luckily we were there with another couple. that's it.

One of the rare short walk to reach the destination. But we were not tempted by the cold water so we admired the beautiful green water, small fall and calmness of the surroundings.

Small fee to get access.

If you are traveling with a family on your own and can't hike 3 hours to reach other falls, it is a good option.

Some kiosks for souvenirs are on site and a snack /lunch bar. We had a nice salad. You can order on your way in for faster service when you return.

If you are driving yourself and you do not know the region, use a GPS.

Emerald Falls although a nice walk, 20-30 minutes if you are fit, is certainly worth the visit. The falls are beautiful although small. Dominica is a fairly large island and has a variety of things to do. Just off the cruise ship your best bet will be to have prearranged your visit as there will be dozens of screaming cab drivers beyond the fence, trying to get your attention. We had visited w some of the cruise people ( who were from there) about renting a cab for all day. After getting the skinny on who, what, and how much we were ready. A lovely visit and most enjoyable day. Our driver also introduced us to a islander who had arranged for our lunch. Although a very poor country it was on our list of possible places to live. Well worth the trip!

Gorgeous waterfall... once it is raining heavily, you won't be able to swim in the pool. Great for photos though.
