If you need transportation...Please take ADO...You WON'T be disappointed! Clean, Comfortable, On Time and priced right! A 2 hour ride from Cancun to Tulum was $10/ person.

bag got stolen

bus service was good and on time but worst experience of my life, my bag got stolen with all my bank cards and money in it. Advertised as “safe” but definitely not the case

I WANT A FULL REFUND FOR THE have- to TICKETS AND 50% Off the Re-booked tickets! A Horrible Experience

On Friday Nov. 20th I purchased 2 tickets to travel from Playa Del Carmen to Merida Centro on the regular ADO for medical treatments the following day and then return on Sunday. I knew it was going to be a long hard ride so this incident did not help. I chose the OCC route back as it was the quickest. Approximately 30 minutes prior to our departure we arrived at the Historic Centro terminal and proceeded to inquire about the departure. The employee at the desk said the bus would be about 40 minutes late more or less. He seemed to be well informed, so around the corner we waited until we heard the ”Playa del Carmen” announcement and then swiftly got up to board. This was only 30 feet away at the most and when we went to get on, your employee said the bus had left.
Firstly, it definitely was not 40 minutes late, 10-15 minutes maximum if it was there at all. Secondly, there is no way it could have come and gone in the time it took to get up and board. I have been a loyal client who has used, trusted, and recommended your services for many years. The shock of this news was completely unjust. Receiving such poor information and missing a bus this was completely unprofessional. I was very upset, in a lot of pain and had to get home as soon as possible. Your employee did not seem to care and gave me a form to fill out to receive 50% off our next tickets if I re-booked the tickets within the next 30 minutes. This is ridiculous and unfair, especially when it is not the clients fault. I do not agree with this protocol and I am supposed to lose all my money over this situation? ADO policy wants their clients to re-book with them while being very annoyed, upset and angered. I did not even want to support your business. I first tried to make other arrangements which unfortunately did not work out. The entire day was spoiled, I lost money on the previous tickets, I ended up having to pay for another night in a hotel, food and then in the end I had to purchase 2 more tickets for the following day. I purchased 2 Platino tickets for Monday Nov.23.20. Most of my contacts told me to take the Platino as it would be the most comfortable given my situation. This is Covid-19, who has extra money to just give away and leave with nothing? Not ME!!!!
The next morning we arrived at the terminal Altabrisa. There were not many people but it took about 15 minutes to clean out the bus, fill up and board all passengers. The ride back was clean, comfortable with no problem. Again confirming how long the transition takes between routes especially with Covid-19 regulation. I would like to have the first set of tickets reimbursed and I believe the 2nd set of tickets should be 50% off at least (As they would have been had I booked within the 30 minute ridiculous policy).
I would like to be Compensated Fully for the tickets and inconvenience of the entire situation. This incident report is late due to medical recovery. Otherwise I would have done it right away!!!

Safe, Clean and Reliable

We had a great time traveling with ADO bus from Cancun to Play Del Carmon. All procedures followed Covid regulations including social distancing with seating, getting temperatures taken, and given hand sanitizer. The staff members were friendly and answered all of our questions. The ride was comfortable, safe and on time. We will use ADO again next time we are in need of transportation.

ADO App the Way to Go

ADO is the most genuine and comfortable way to get around Riviera Maya. I cannot recommend enough to download the ADO app on your phone, so you can avoid the hustlers & possibly dishonest folks who count on ill-misinformed tourists visiting these beautiful cities. I don’t speak any Spanish and was still able to book my ticket from PDC to Tulum and from Tulum to Cancun on the app. Save yourself the hassle, the money, be prepared with a few pesos to tip the bellman.

Airport to Playa - couldnt get to the ADO during Covid Time

The airport seems to not have all terminals open? Or they are newly opened or something? I could not tell. But despite the ADO site saying all is peachy, I arrived Nov 1 and could not get an Ado bus to Playa Del Carmen as I thought I could. First the airport "window" is not open for sales on weekends. Next, the bus driver could not explain why there is no bus at terminal 2. But i guess it only stops at Terminal 4 now???? Well I came into 2 and the transport between terminals was next to impossible to find, especially with lying taxi drivers trying to convince me to go with them instead every 2 feet. I'm still not sure what happened but eventually i found another man also looking to get to PDC and we split a taxi for $30 each plus tip.

ADO does not foolow it's own policy!

Follow their own protocol for 30% capacity during this covid period! Their ticket booking website indicates buses are at 30 %. The bus on which we travelled was full, no empty seats! It was a 5 hour ride from Merida to Cancun. We would not have booked under those circumstances! Unethical business practices and a health risk.

A great way to get around the Yucatan

We used buses for every leg of our three week trip apart from Merida to Campeche via Uxmal. Good buses every time. Comfortable and affordable. We even managed the 9 hour trip from Palenque to Celestun as to sixty somethings with arthritis. That was the only one where we had to get up at stupid o'clock too, all the other bus timings were pretty easy. The bus terminals are generally OK as well. The only one that we found a bit tricky was Bacalar. Also the one in Campeche is a long way out of town but there is an agent near the centre who is very helpful. If you know the next leg of your journey in advance you can book it when you arrive at the terminal.

Avoid the outrageous Cancun taxi rates by taking the bus! The buses I took were modern, clean, ontime and very reasonably priced.
