About
Cascina Albano was born in the heart of Langhe, on the hills of Barbaresco, from Vacca family, who has been now producing wines for more than three generations. The winery was founded by grandfather Marco and his son Natale at the beginning of the 80s. Passionate about the land where they were born, they decided to name the winery after the hill on which it sits: Alban, which means “kissed by the early sunshine”. The passion for our job and the fascinating relationship between vines and man, give us the courage to improve every day the expression of our land and our history through our wines. They are able, like a never-ending book, to tell the story about the harmony between the different parts. Modern creativity together with a focused vision of agriculture and enology, allows us to enhance the unique features of our wines and our hills. In every sip of one of our wines, you will the passion of grandfather Marco, the patience of Natale, and the creativity of Marco.

Great wines - small production family winery. A friendly and useful presentation of how their wine is made and a tour of their wine making facility by one of the family members. We ordered a tasting with local products which was presented well and paired with the wines. The entire presentation and tasting was about 1.5-2 hours. They do ship their wines internationally. Beautiful area too and just a minute from the town of Barbaresco. I would recommend this winery.

Very good and enjoyable host. She appeared very professional. We were able to book a visit and tasting on a short notice without any problems. The tour was very informational and it was fun to see the production site. The tasting was also very fun and ‘tasty’. Would certainly recommend visiting the family owned vineyard.

While they were fully booked for the day and we were unable to tour the winery, they let us taste their wines in between tours. Both were very friendly and willing to answer any of our questions even though they were busy. We will definitely be going back next time we are in the area.

This is a small family estate / producer from a long line of winemakers. Marcus, a young man who I think will make a name for himself in years to come has gone out on his own, even drawing the artwork for his labels.
Born into a wine family and university trained in the art and science of winemaking, Marcus is full of both knowledge and passion for his craft. This made the tour of the winery more interesting than most. We visited 4 wineries in Barbaresco over 2 days, and enjoyed this tour the most.
The tasting includes the full range of wines, grissini, cheese and salumi. I believe the tour fees were waived with our purchase of 6 well-priced bottles.

Cascina Albano was a top highlight of our trip to the Langhe region. Highly recommend a stop at this family-run winery located at the top of a hill just outside of Barbaresco. Marco gave a friendly and informative tour, including his family's winemaking history and all the details of every stage of the grape growing and wine making process. Marco is so passionate about his work and it clearly shows in the final product. The tasting was wonderful, with a thoughtful discussion of the multiple wines we tried (which were all outstanding). Loved it and hope to come back someday!

I have just returned from a visit to Turin to visit my son and his partner. They arranged a visit to this winery in Barbaresco. My wife and I have paid many visits to various wineries in this area. This winery was by far the very best yet. Our visit was hosted by Marco Vacca who is the son of the present owner. Marco combines the formal education of a modern wine producer with all the passion of a family long steeped in wine production. The range and depth of his knowledge was superb. He even had large glass containers showing the different soil compositions of his vineyard and he then explained the effects this has on the different vines grown in his vineyard.

After the informative talk we got down to the business in hand - namely tasting wine. Even here he was both knowledgable and helpful. We tasted all that he produces and as we tasted he explained where in the vineyard they were grown and how both the topography and the soil influenced both colour and taste of the wines. All in all it was the best winery visit we have made in almost ten years of visiting the area.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating - or in this case the buying. I have never before bought more than a couple of bottles due to transporting them back home. On this occasion I bought 12 bottles. Marco is fully geared up for shipping and my wine was home in five days properly packed in polystyrene cases.

If you want the best vineyard experience in this area then go to Casino Albano you will not regret it.

My daughter arranged a wine tasting here for my birthday.

It was wonderful to experience such passion for the wine and the environment in which its made and we live in.

We must return when the wine in Terracotta is ready to try .......always interested in innovation and different ideas.

Wonderful to try Freisa and know that old traditions are trying to be maintained it is harder to find this old variety of wine.

Highly recommend this very informative passionate producer.

We read about this winery on trip advisor and decided to go there. The countryside is breathtaking and we couldn’t have chosen a better place. The owner is a sixth generation wine maker, well educated and passionate about his wine-making. We sampled all of his wines and liked every one (not usual). We also learned about Barbaresco and the many varieties of grapes grown in the area. Don’t miss this winery.
