Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wonderful place, a little worn out. We visited here in 2009 and just fell in love. The village is on stilts over the bay and is a mix of local homes, tourist accommodation, restaurants and tat shops.
Going back in early 2023 it is clear the place has had it hard over the last few years, with many of the buildings having fallen into disrepair and some gone entirely.
It’s still very much worth a visit and a couple of hidden gems still reside there, where you can eat or drink looking out over the bay with the sound of water all around you.

I only visited for around 20 minutes to take a few photos. Some shops have remained closed but still enough activity happening for food, souvenirs etc. Many boat tours leave from here so I was able to check them out as I intend to return in November.

We like to tour islands by motorbike and stopped in here to check out the pier. You will find little souvenir shops and snacks run by locals. Some diving gear, lots of sea food restaurants and little bars, along with some rooms and home stays. People are going about their lives here. Perhaps it is a bit different with international tourists but currently, it is a nice way to spend a lazy afternoon. Come and visit.

Great place to go out of the sun. Plenty of shops to look in. Some nice looking restaurant as well though did not try any. I walked to the light house at the end of the peir but found it disappointing. It was full of litter. The fishing boats were interesting though. I must give ten out of ten to the public toilets at the start of the pier. 5bt to get in but very clean and tidy.

Lots of different shopping and dining options here. Very cool local handmade items as well as other souvenirs. I wish I would have had more time to shop there.

We had a nice seafood lunch here but realistically the place is a bit old and seems to be just hanging on. The pier is narrow with many shops on either side selling souvenirs and a few restaurants. Basically now the main function of the pier seems to be a base to launch day trips on. Ok for something to do but not a must see.

Yes, it is touristy but also very scenic. Lots of boats leave here on tours, plenty of restaurants and also souvenir shops, worth a visit.

Ko Chang is not as big as Ko Samuy nor as diversified as a matter of attractions.

You can take the different day tours on the island and you will see by yourself that compared to other Thailand places this island is rather average or even poor, if it weren't for its beaches.

However this Fishermen Village is worth your time.
We happened to discover it after we booked a snorkel/diving tour in the close islands (which I have also reviewed here).

It was an nice surprise to get again a glimpse of the Thai culture and people, but of course and as usual to enjoy some nice shopping as always in Thailand.
You usually also leave this pier when you take the boat to Ko Mak or Ko Kut (also called Ko Kood) but then you have little time to see the place.

As I wrote in my title, one of the better place in Ko Chang and if you stay for some days, probably a must.

I have attached several pictures to give you a better feel of the place, as well as descriptions of the different tours in Ko Chang.
