Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Love the scenic trail but make sure you go to the washroom before you go. Considering there is a fee for parking you would think they would put the money towards a bathroom instead of a horrible unbearable, unsanitized "OUT HOUSE"

Beautiful place. Has great trails. It's almost magical in the winter, the way the sun shines through the trees in the late afternoon.
Although it's not quite as remote as it once was, the campground is long since gone and will someday in the not too distant future be completely surrounded by the urban sprawl. As a result It's getting harder to find the personal serenity there. Enjoy it while you still can.
Also keep an eye out for coyotes, although they have never shown to be aggressive, they are there and I can personally attest to seeing them in the area on more than one occasion, including on my last visit.

The hiking and geocaching trails here are of low difficulty but still are enjoyable to those willing to have a milder hiking or outdoors experience.

This conservation area has more than beautiful river streaming through, wonderful walking trails, tobogganing and cross country skiing in the winter as well as a sense of Ontario history.
Ontario was full of railway during the late 1800s and early 1900s crisscrossing Ontario.
Heber Downs still has remnants of the grand trunk railway system which crossed over this landscape
In addition there a bike trails waiting to be sampled

Great diverse types of walking trails for the whole family. We love walking and riding bikes on the paved and gravel paths. It's a nice quiet nature area. It can be very busy on weekends throughout the warmer months.

We had taken our dog for a walk to enjoy the colourful leaves and fall temperatures and all seemed great, got back in the car and went home. Just before dinner we noticed that our dog had a tick which we removed without issue, found another on the floor after dinner and found one again today at lunch. We have treated our dog with flea and tick prevention and have found the ticks dead. I would proceed with caution if your dog has not been treated as we have NEVER had a tick in the 2 years we have had him until we visited here. It would be a good idea to make sure that children also are protected when visiting here and walking the trails.

Out with a group of 5 to hike in this great park. Excellent weather and trails were in very good shape. Even though it was Thanksgiving weekend we did not meet many people.

Where is the bridge and stairs? I think I read the stairs go down to Devils gully? Is that marked on the maps in the park?

I would like to know if I can walk a trail with my baby stroller? If so what trail should I take? Thank you .

Yes...there are a couple steep hills but majority is walkable with stroller
Try Lynde shores conservation (Main Entrance: 1225 Victoria St. West, Whitby) for a nice walk. If you take bird seed the chickadee's will eat out of your hand and chipmunks will take peanuts in shells out of your hand as well
Can you have a BBQ at Heber down?
