Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A nice walk to the sea. ⛱️ 😎

Boscombe Chine Gardens are beautiful gardens dating back to the 1880s. They were originally developed from a 'chine' of heath and marsh into a stunning Victorian garden, a central part of the Boscombe resort.

There are so many creatively designed elegant figures from bushes and flowers, such as butterflies, trains and others. There is a water play area for children, courts for sports and a café terrace where the locals love to come and relax.

Holders of the Green Flag award since 2007, these gardens are also recognized as Bournemouth's tenth local nature reserve and winners of Best Park in Southern England.

The garden extends to the seafront. Central chine garden just outside Bournemouth city center in Boscombe.

This is a quite well maintained garden walk to the beach and pier.

I was a little surprised as the water features in the enclosed play area had no water flowing to it. I had thought it was supplied by the adjacent pond which was full. But it seems it may actually be pumped from somewhere and currently turned off for the winter.

We were looking for somewhere to have a snack for lunch whilst visiting Boscombe and saw the sign for the chine. It is a pleasant walk through the chine and the path is not very steep. At the top there is a well kept mini golf course overlooked by an outdoor cafe with a balcony. The food was excellent and freshly prepared, we had a large sausage roll and a panini with bacon and soft cheese. The prices are very reasonable and there are special offers. Our tea and coffee were served in bamboo cups and cutlery was also made of bamboo.
A lovely spot for a relaxing lunch with views of magnificent flower beds.

Worth a visit even if you’re walking through quickly.
It’s a peaceful and beautiful place, no matter what the weather.
You can take a picnic and find a space, if nice otherwise there’s a cafe
No charge for entry and a great walk through if you’re at Boscombe pier and need to get into Boscombe or, if you’re on your way back from another place on a yellow bus, get off at the Boscombe Chine and walk to the Boscombe pier… anywhere between 20-40 mins walk, depending on your speed.

The gardens are beautiful, perfectly kept and we saw an army of volunteers working to keep them looking so nice. There is no shortage of benches, which was appreciated as I visited with my grandmother. The gardens are gorgeous, and big enough to be well worth a trip, especially as they are so close to the beach.
