Grandchildren loved it

Haven’t been here for over 20 years, plenty to see with a one way system inplace, not just the Animals here there’s swings, climbing frames, a helicopter to sit in as well as an old fire engine so plenty of things to do. Also a Costa coffee machine here£2 good value.

Best for younger children
7/2020
This is a small-scale zoo suitable for younger children. The information panels are informative. There are lots of play areas, including sand and water.

Needs a bit of love and attention...
7/2020
We visited on a Sunday afternoon. Paid £32.50 to enter (family ticket for 1 adult and 3 children under 13). As soon as we walked in my heart sank. I've visited several Zoo's in the UK and across the world, but have never felt such an overwhelming sadness that I felt for the animals at Battersea. First of all, it was very small, not a lot of space for them to move around, particularly the monkeys, All the animals (when you could actually see them) just looked a bit sad and dishevelled. Hopefully, the Zoo will start investing some money to improve what could be a really nice place once things start returning back to normal after COVID-19 lockdown.

Waste of money
6/2020
We had heard the zoo is toddler friendly and good for young kids especially, but having paid £30 for three of us, it was an absolute rip off. A handful of animals, horrible and cramped lay out, and more play area than zoo area. There are so many amazing free things to do around London, don’t waste your money on this!

Fun day at the zoo.

We visited the first week of re opening, my son was really excited to be visiting the animals. Also for me it was great we could actually visit somewhere other than going for another park walk! Also wanted to support the zoo.

First visit to Battersea zoo and was not sure if we would be there long as I read it was very small but we were there a long while. We got to see all the animals up close and there were many to see. I liked that it was very personable and there were also lots areas to sit where you could watch the animals. The staff and zoo keepers were lovely. The zookeepers I believe James and Jamie were amazing with the children. While feeding the animals they spent time talking with my son and even took him back to see the poison dart frog as we couldn't see it when we looked. On speaking to them they were really happy to have the zoo open again and to welcome visitors back.We took lots of photos! If your wanting to see all the big animals such as tigers of course you won't find them here but there are lots of various animals here worthy to see and we learnt lots around their conservation work.

We are already planning our next visit!

One note in regards to social distancing. The zoo were all set up, not overcrowded, lots arrows, signs and washing facilities. But as with everywhere it is down to the individuals. Some people were keeping to distancing but you cannot stop small children running around and be up close so you have to be aware and it seems many parents just let it happen and even do it themselves!

Day outing
11/2019 • Perhe
Took the kids I look after out for the day and thought the zoo would be perfect. As they are under 4 the Battersea park zoo is great. It’s not too big so that they get tired or bored. There is also plenty to see to keep them interested. As well as a playground that the kids loved. Is a nice day out.

Zoo Keeper Experience is Excellent
1/2020
My kids did the zoo keeper experience on 5 Jan with Jamie. I think it was better than the one at ZSL. They fed emus, wallabis, coatis, meerkats, a pig, monkeys, agoutis, donkeys and even said hi to the corn snake. Jamie was a font of knowledge and interesting facts. The morning was well timed, giving just the right amount of time for each animal. They then had lots of fun the rest of the day in the playground.

I would highly recommend this experience. It was more intimate than London Zoo, which also invoved colouring in a classroom. Battersea was all outdoors and very friendly. They felt they could ask anything and he would know the aswer.

Thank you Jamie, thank you BPCZ!

Lovely little zoo on the banks of the Thames in Battersea Park
12/2019
After a lovely walk through the park we entered into the Childrens zoo on the bank of the Thames. It's a lovely little place with lots to see, although as it was Christmas and cold, a lot of the animals were hiding so we didn't get to see much. But well worth a visit.
