Musician mecca

Not my sort of shopping street, but can see the attraction if you're a musician. Many guitar shops with all sorts of things to buy. Enjoy if it's your kind of place.

Denmark Street just south of Tottenham Court road, use to be the Forbidden Planet original location, now a days its a popular street to find a guitar or the Door to Cormoran Strikes office.

A Must for Guitar Lovers
12/2019
We made this our one stop on our 5 hour layover in London. My husband loves guitars, and this was literally all he wanted to see. Well, he wanted to see Wunjo guitars, but was surprised that he got an entire "guitar row". We got to go in to each little shop for only a few minutes, but everyone was nice. I saw a number of guitars that are not usually seen in American stores. My husband said that if we ever go back to London that he wants a full 8 hours to spend on the street.

Looking rather tasty and run down

I’ve known this iconic London street for decades but Tin Pan Alley as it’s nicknamed is looking sad and unloved nowadays. There are works going on to buildings on the north side so the shops that side are mostly shrouded in scaffolding and sheeting. Also, the location is now surrounded by glitzy new developments, which makes it seem even shabbier. Despite it’s poor appearance, the interest here is the music shops, a mecca for guitar nerds in particular but also those interested in offer musical instruments.

Guitar Row

Fun street to visit if you're into guitars and music. A short street with several historic guitar and music shops. Friendly staffs at most and you never know who you will see checking out guitars and such.

This is the place that you should go if you are into history and music as there is so much of both here and just to walk along here after visiting means yard is a must

Wunjo Bass in Denmark Street

Great street for guitars - everyone was helpful and knowledgeable. Wunjo opened at 12 and we were quickly guided to a great Fender Bass by the knowledgable staff - certainly recommend the Street

Guitar Street
9/2018 • Soolomatka
Told about this place and had to have a look to see just how many guitar shops can fit into one street. The answer is quite a lot it seems. Most of the shops here sell guitars, hence the alternative name of Guitar Street. There's actually a few non guitar shops as well, but always a shop related to music.

Probably not that interesting unless you have an interest in either music or guitars.

Must See for Musicians and Rock History Buffs

Visited Denmark Street with my 15-year old guitar-playing son. He had the choice between this and the Tower of London. It was a no-brainer for him, and he likes history. There are a number of excellent stores selling all manner of instruments. Folks we encountered seemed very welcoming and encouraged him to try out the electric guitars. We were there a couple hours and could have stayed longer. Nice walk back to our hotel in Westminster. Denmark Street is not very long, but there is a lot packed in there. Some of the stores are former recording studios where groups such as the Stones Kinks, and David Bowie recorded.

I was so overwhelmed with the selection of guitars in every shop. The standard of equipment was awesome.
