Worth a visit

Unique shopping area of London. Lots of independents here and unique items to buy and browse. A mecca for grabbing a coffee and cake too. Easy to find from Covent Garden.

Seven Blue Dials
9/2020
Hidden away in Covent garden you can discover the Seven Dials based on an original construction over 3 hundred years ago, the blue shines nicely on a sunny day and the area around it is worth a wander.

Quaint shopping area

The one thing I love about London is you just don't know what gems you may find as you wander about without an agenda, Seven Dials is one of those gems. Located close to Covent Garden Tube / Market area access is easy, the variety of shops should satisfy most and there are also places to stop for drinks / eats also.

There is so much to do at the Seven Dials and also the surrounding attractions that it is worth allowing for at least a full day to just wander at your own pace and take it all in.

Tip, if you use the Tube to Covent station do not use the stairs to get to the street level unless you are fit and have no bags, the seemingly large amount of people waiting for the lifts will clear pretty quickly so just be patient.

Great history, just a few minutes away from Covent Garden and busy London, A must see for all in search of some wonderful history.

Fun neighborhood

Great little area with lots of food and shopping choices away from the more popular and ‘main’ part of Covent Garden. It’s a warren of streets that all come together at the statue of 7 dials. Definitely worth exploring!

Quite a change!
3/2019
In Dickens' time this was a slum and when I last visited back in 1969 it wasn't the really lovely and vibrant place you see now - it gave me quite a shock, I can tell you. Carnaby Street looked a bit tired and old and I can only hope that the re-vitalized Seven Dials will serve as a kind of blue-print for a facelift for Carnaby Street. I was mightily impressed by the renewed monument and the streets that come together here didn't look as tired as I remember. Some of the shops looked quite swish and some of the smells wafting from the eateries were most seductive. I must come back and spend a bit more time here. Even 'The Crown' pub looked smarter and more welcoming than before. It's really made the old area into something special and not just a way to get from Shaftesbury Avenue to the Royal Opera in Bow Street.

Hidden gem to some degree

I wonder how many people know that Seven Dials as a shopping area exists. And that’s fine with me. Really enjoy wondering the streets with their eclectic mix of shops and boutiques ranging from Diesel, Offspring, Bare Minerals, Birkenstock etc. Something for everyone. Most probably stick to the Covent Garden area but just a short walk north it’s the dials.

Seven Dials Shopping Street
12/2019 • Perhe
After dinner, we walked along Seven Dials, a road junction in Covent Garden and West End of London where seven streets converge. At the centre of the roughly circular space is a column bearing six sundials, a result of the column being commissioned before a late-stage alteration of the plans from an original six roads to seven.

The streets are nicely and brightly decorated with christmas lighting suspended above the roads.
