Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I used to hear good things about this pub, but that was many years ago. The traditional exterior belies a totally knocked-out, and modernised interior. The place was completely empty, which may have been because the students have gone away. Service was friendly. However, the beer was absolutely rotten. I wouldn't return.

My brother Stephen and I had just visited the wonderful Kirkstall Brewery Taproom and on the way back from the city centre we spotted two pubs,The Highland Pub and this pub called The Fox & Newt Pub.
This is such a lovely pub,the interior is fantastic, a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, tv's to enjoy the sport, pubby decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, a classic British pub.
We were here on a Thursday evening, we had a study of their beer range and we both opted to have Carlsberg beer, served chilled ,we just kicked back, settled down and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub.
My beer was really good, Carlsberg beer is not my usual tipple, more a real ale and craft beer fan myself but on a hot evening this was a totally refreshing brew, iced cold and sparkling just a very good Danish lager.
We really enjoyed our beers in here and although our visit was only fleeting for a first time visit to The Fox & Newt Pub we were totally impressed.
The Fox & Newt Pub is a pub very easy to locate down Burley Street.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Sunday, Open from Midday.
A wonderful pub, if your in the area most definitely well worth checking out.

Me and two other friends nipped into the fox and newt the other night having not been in there for some years. Two pints of bitter (both made on premises) and a pint of lager, the lager was flat as a pancake and one of the bitters was off. Staff couldn't have given a monkeys when we returned them and simply offered a bottle of generic lager in return, absolutely shocking attention to care especially seeing as they brew two of the beers on their premises. Won't be going back.

Nice place with 3 taps of locally brewed beers (1 or 2 brewed on the premises). Bottle selection is limited. Free WiFi and good prices, for Leeds

I went to this pub with work colleague after a day of training. It's a typical local pub - friendly staff, good real ale, well kept and a tasty food with plenty of exotic options such as crocodlile and kangaroo for the adventurous and chips with interesting toppings. I chose chicken wings in a sweet sauce with the chips and it was just what the doctor ordered !
