- Robmanic1Cleethorpes, United Kingdom6 contributionsBooze, brews and vibes!Stayed over in Harrogate for a Friday night, did some research before we visited and found the "Blues Cafe Bar" online, looked like my kind of place! Read the reviews on here first of course, some reviewers mentioned to get there early as it can get busy. We arrived at 8:30pm (band was due on at 9:00) it was already fairly busy, no tables left but we managed to find a "perch" near the stairs. Within 10 minutes of arrival we were engaged by a couple of very friendly locals which set the tone for the evening. By the end of the night (we stayed until kicking out time!) we'd made so many new friends it took another half an hour to say goodbye to everyone! The band were superb (The Steve Everett Band, from our home town bizarrely), were magnificent, the bar staff were amazing, even though it was busy you were never waiting long to be served. Great choice of beers, very friendly atmosphere and live music, honestly nothing not to like, we will definitely return!Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 April 2023
- mcleodalimcAnlaby, United Kingdom822 contributionsA bit different and worth goingLovely place and interesting food, we ate upstairs in the characterful and very green, green room. Good range of lager, rather limited beer with just 3. Waitress was pleasant and helpful. Mixed bag of dishes from ok to very good. Good that they turned the speaker off when the band started as you could clearly hear them anyway!Visited September 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 1 October 2023
- Josh F1 contributionAuthentic Old-School CoolBlues Bar needs no introduction and is incredibly easy to recommend (in fact, I recommend Blues more than any other venue in Harrogate for sheer atmosphere and authenticity). Danny is a great frontman for the venue and a warm and welcoming team member; always effusive of great energy and positivity! Get over for some great live acts and a proper, no bs experience!Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 7 November 2023
- SoopyeHarrogate, United Kingdom16 contributionsA place full of heart and soul with some of the best vocal and musical talent aroundA real gem in the town if you like to be in a great atmosphere, meet all kinds of wonderful and characterful people, whether you're local or visiting and love live music, as I do. Every time I have been here and there's been a live band on, which is most days, the talent and mix of styles is fantastic. Its cosy, but that just adds to the atmostphere and the staff have always been really friendly. I highly recommend this place whether mid week, when they have some wonderful acoustic sessions or I love their Sunday afternoon/Evening sessions when there are usually several bands/singers performing. Its also very pleasant during the day if you just want a relaxing drink :-)Visited February 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 23 February 2024
- Philip J27 contributionsGreat vibe, friendly atmosphereWent to the Monday Jam evening and it was soooo entertaining. Guest guitarists and singers doing adhoc stints with the House Band. The cafe itself is quite small but very friendly and welcoming. A really good vibe and an unexpected experience.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 12 March 2024

Had a really good few hours here. Smallish place but good atmosphere. Bar staff very friendly. Drinks very well priced - under a tenner for two gin and tonics. Best thing of all was the six piece band who played ska/reggae. Talented lads. Everyone seemed really friendly. Seemed like it had plenty of regulars. Worth a visit if you're in town.

Serendipity kicked in and a drunk recommended this place to us as a mature stag party looking for somewhere to go after we had left the restaurant......slightly dubious as he was hammered.....!
But he was spot on, great atmosphere, terrific band (Jed Thomas) and a lively clientele all out to enjoy themselves with no agenda or attitude. Good selection of drinks and looking at the website, upstairs looked good for food.
If you like your entertainment old school, packed to the rafters, move out the way of the bar to let someone else in, excuse me mate, can I get by, rocking, loud and good value....then you've found the right place.

Smashing little place playing live blues. We just went for a drink and some music but they serve food. Bars on two floors. Live music is downstairs but you can hear it and have a conversation upstairs. Well worth a visit. Prices for beer aren't bad either

There is a new Tapas restaurant at he Blues bar and it is definitely worth a visit.
It is upstairs where the gin bar is and the quality and value is great.
The choices are varied and the deal on 3 choices for £12 is excellent value. Portions are generous and the Yorkshire slant on the tapas is clever.
Definitely recommended.

Wow. Visited Harrogate this weekend with intention of a pub crawl but once got in this place we never moved. Not the biggest place but a great atmosphere. Nice beer reasonably priced and excellent live music. The place was bouncing with the excellent "Revolator Band" . Enjoyed it so much went back the next night. A must for anyone visiting Harrogate.

I have frequented the blues bar many times and enjoyed all genres of live music, Sunday afternoons are particularly lively with a wide cross section of music being performed from young to old

Hi we sat upstairs with a table at the front window, it was a great table, you could certainly here the band upstairs and they have a tv showing the downstairs area so you can watch it too. It’s a really small bar area downstairs, we went down after our meal and managed to squeeze up to the wall. Great place though and fab loud music. Enjoy!!

Hi.
Very sorry- only just seen yr msg. These questions are not emailed out - only within one's online account that one might only see once a year. Funnily enough we were back in Harrogate briefly last week and walked right past the great BLUES BAR but sadly during the day.
To my amazement they have music virtually every night - can't wait to get back there but we live hundreds of miles away in Lincolnshire.
I hope that you got to enjoy your music there.
Most evening music starts at nine pm.
