Poignant yes due to family history. Antiques of distinguished provinance. So worth a visit but museum furnishings are not in pristine condition. Higgly piggly setting of furniture so one doesn't the grandness of the ensemble. Felt it was equivalent to an antique store; not a home. Appreciate the high cost of restoration. The entrance fee will not help. Interesting to see the home for its architecture

What a delightful mansion museum full of beautiful decorations and furniture along with an informative recorded tour. Additionally, the gardens behind the mansion about a block away (ask docents about the huge garden) was spectacular, complete with a Carrousel.

Beautiful mansion filled with exquisite original furnishings and art. It is a time capsule from a century ago and has a marvelous collection of 18th Century furniture and objet d'art. The English audio guide was very helpful and so was the video.
The best part was that the museum was not crowded, even at the end of June.

This museum is one of my favorites anywhere. The backstory is heart-wrenching, especially if you were familiar with _The Garden of the Finzi-Contini_ for which this museum is an astonishingly-close real-life example.
My visit here in May 2023 was my 2nd visit. I brought my mother here as I thought she'd enjoy it too with its emphasis on the decorative arts. We stayed for a guided tour with a docent acting out the role of maitre de table to recreate a formal dinner from June 1930. Although it was all in French which I understand reasonably well and which my mother does not understand at all, it was a great opportunity especially to visit parts of the museum not normally available to patrons. The staff were especially kind in helping my mother navigate the stairs (she has 2 knee braces and walks with 2 canes). I highly recommend everyone to come here!

It's a grand house, but small enough and well designed enough that you can feel you might like to live in it back in the day. That contrasts with many such houses that are too grand and over the top, those don't seem inviting. We didn't learn the somewhat tragic history of the family until after our visit - please look that up in advance, as it added to our appreciation of the house and its contents. Moreover, we were assuming it was just another rich banker, but we found there was a lot more to the family's story.
Plan on about 70-90 minutes here. Ideally you can access via the Monceau metro stop and have the short but beautiful walk across Parc Monceau on your way to the museum.
We didn't do the audio tour so the details of furnishings escaped us, but we enjoyed them overall. The china sets from 1700s in particular, amazing to see.
It was not busy, we arrived around 11-11:30am without any advance reservations and paid onsite, none of which was a problem. No lines at all, so you can keep yourselves footloose and avoid pre-booking this one but just show up.
Be sure to use some of the restrooms on various floors by the staircase, each of these feels like a step back in time, and we were impressed they are still allowing visitors to use their somewhat historic feeling bathrooms.

Interesting little museum. The house belonged to a banking family, but after the son died in the Second World War, it became a museum of decorative arts. During our visit on a Saturday afternoon, there was no queue for tickets and generally not many visitors.

The mansion built between 1911 and 1914, is almost entirely dedicated to eighteenth century French, decorative art. All throughout his life, Moise de Camondo an enlightened art enthusiast, collected wood panelling, tapestries, carpets, furniture and objects d'art made by the royal workshops and the most talented craftsmen of the 18th century.
In memory of his son Nissim, he bequeathed his life's work to the Museum des Arts Decoratifs, offering the public an exceptional opportunity to travel through time and experience the elegance of Belle Epoque Paris.

Open Wed - Sun 10 am - 17:30 am. Closed Mon, Tuesday. Price 12 euros (audioguide included). You can buy the combo-ticket with Museum des Arts Decoratifs and use this type of ticket during next 4 days (starting with day of purchase). In this case cost of ticket is 20 euros (Art Decoratifs ticket by itself is 14 euros). It is smart to combine a visit to this museum not only by purchase of a mixed ticket, but also with joint visit to the beautiful city Monceau park that is located nearby. The windows of the museum overlook the park directly or you can walk through it to the museum if you exit the metro station Monceau park + 4 minutes walk.
