Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A beautiful building located by the Real Alcazar and the Seville Cathedral. This site is free and offers a nice architectural experience. There is nothing else indoors to look at.

There’s not a ton to see here and you’ll be in and out in 45 minutes. But what they do show you is historic and amazing! The Treaty of Tordesillas! Letters from Elcano! The contract for Columbus’ first voyage!

The building is rather grand and easy on the eye.
Inside, there are some interesting murals in the volumenous rooms.
There are many shelves that contain archives.

Free to enter. Beautiful old building housing invaluable documents from Spain's maritime history. The documents displayed are a very small selection of those contained in the repository and is changed over time. The second floor is beautiful with old paintings of Spanish conquistadors and officers. Need no more than an hour to cover this point of interest

Built in the late 16th century, this building is near the cathedral and Alcazar and was originally used for trading. Inside houses documents from the colonization of the New World

Free to get in - and had clean toilets. Which was nice. The building is impressive, but there's little by way of actual information to explain what you're looking at, the history of the building etc.

This building was built sometime in the 16th century. It is situated just by the side of the Seville Cathedral. It houses million of documents and about its expedition and history of spain.

The Archivo General de los Indias is a waste of time. When I went it contained four facsimile documents e.g. of the Treaty of Tordesillas (which divided the hemispheres between Spain and Portugal) with little explanation in a single glass case ... and NOTHING else (aside from some mediocre portraits of obscure officials) . Library display cases filled - hilariously - with empty file boxes. What is the point of this building? Seville is a town literally built on the proceeds of the trade with the Americas, the destruction of the indigenous populations, the silver trade, the creation of new states and there are NO documents worth displaying?? Bizarre. Save your time and give this a miss.

What a beautiful building. Free entry and if for nothing else its worth popping in just to walk up those beautiful marble stairs and stroll along those stunning halls.
You're in the area, go have a look.

Unimpressed really unless you want to see 10,000 empty boxes
Beautiful building but only has 4/5 artifacts
The most impressive item was a chest to place gold and jewels that had an intricate locking mechanism
