The area
Neighbourhood: Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a nice fountain at the entrance of the castle (Castello) where it is very convenient spot for pictures and rest after long walk.

Beautiful fountain just in front the Castle, the first construction was made for the visit of Mussolini in 1936 , and immediately called wedding cake for its shape.
It was dismantled for metropolitan construction and forgotten for several years in warehouses until 1999 when it was finally repositioned in its place

The fountain is located on the approach to the main entrance of Milan Castle, Castello Sforzesco. To be honest, I barely noticed it in passing as my eyes were set on the castle behind. It is however an attractive fountain and a photo opportunity.

The Fontana di Piazza Castello is a fountain in front of the south east entrance to Castello Sforzesco. The fountain has a large circular basin with a round, flat shape topped sculpture in the centre, shooting a fan-shaped jet that makes it look like a wedding cake.
A very popular fountain for photos for tourists and locals alike.

Just nice for a quick break. Sit by the garden and people watch for a few minutes. The fountain itself is nothing out of the ordinary.

I have never rated a fountain as terrible. You could walk by this fountain and never even notice it. There is nothing here to draw your attention, because your focus will be on the rebuilt castle behind.
People stand here and take pictures, but if you watch them, you will be surprised that they never really look at the fountain.

The fountain, if not outstanding, but beautiful. Of course, it is a matter of taste; some do, others do not like it. Milanese people call "tort de' spus”,- wedding cake, because of its shape. It is interesting to look at the dark walls of the castle through the spray and jets of water rising upwards. The fountain makes the otherwise gloomy look much more friendly. The fact that I am a fool of the waters influences my opinion presumably. As I walked around the fountain, looking for the best setting for a photo, I noticed different scenes. It was a sweltering day, and many tourists soaked their feet in the water. Unfortunately, sometimes I had the bad luck to see those feats before the owners immersed them into the fountain. With some malacia, I registered that some people wash their hands in the same water as others soak their dirty, sweaty hooves. The culmination was when they also washed their apples in the same place. Watching it was a bit disgusting entertainment.

Sforza Castle was recommended to us by a resident of Milan on the bus into the city from the airport. We had one evening in Milan and asked him what was worth visiting.
This is an amazing and extensive castle housing multiple museums and exhibitions so you could really spend all day here. In front of the entrance is a large civic fountain which sets the atmosphere for a building designed to be noticed. Walk through the entrance arch, past the interior open spaces, museum and exhibition entrances and out to the park behind.
On the evening of our visit there was live music in the park and dancing in the marquee just next to the castle. In August they also have a wide range of musical performances in the castle courtyards.
If you ignore the street sellers constantly asking you to buy a selfie stick or cheap phone charger, this is a ‘must’ during any visit to Milan.

My wife and I visited that place in July 2019. It was a romantic place. It was very suitable for taking the photo. I recommend that place for all passengers to take photo.

I am arriving at ORIO AL SERIO BERGAMO airport & will arrange to go on the ORIO SHUTTLE to get to the hotel.
From my understanding does it only go to MILAN CENTRAL STATION?
Where do i go from here?
I am going to BEST WESTERN MILAN VIA BUTTI, 9, MILAN.
Kind Regards

You will arrive at the central station of Milan. For you the easiest way is to take a taxi. If you get off the bus then the taxi stops are just near this stop. The hotel is not very far so the taxi bill won't be big, should be less than 15 euros
