The area

Neighbourhood: Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

As the tallest building in Italy at 231 metres, I’m surprised that there is no observation deck at the top floor for visitors to ascend to and admire Milan from high above. Nevertheless, the skyscraper is aesthetically beautiful with its curving glass facade and spire piercing the sky. Since public access is not possible, the best one can do is to snap some photos from around the urban rejuvenated Porta Nuova district where it is located.

On our tour of Sightseeing Milano, we passed by bus, had an incredible opportunity to take pictures of this tall corporate Skyscraper building . It’s height is 231 meters which makes it the tallest in Milan. It represents finance and economic growth. It’s modern architecture is surrounded with other modern high rises buildings, shopping mall, stores, and restaurants.

What can I say?

A tall corporate building.

The type of thing you’d look at whilst you drive past. Or afar from a train.

Not something to go visit

With its height of 231 meters, it is the tallest skyscraper in Italy. There are many restaurants on the adjacent square and it is quite lively.

Huge and dominating building located at the modern square. Would be even better if there was a view point for tourists to come to.

If you have time, it is worth a walk around the UniCredit building to see a different, more modern side of Milan. The building itself is quite pretty, if you like modern architecture. The area around it contains a modern shopping mall with stores and restaurants.

UniCredit Tower is the tallest high rise in the financial hub of Milan. More than the building, it is the area near by which is more interesting with quite a good number of shopping and similar high rises. Famous Venchi of Milan is also in the vicinity.

The UniCredit Tower is a skyscraper and office block owned by the largest in Italy. It has an interesting elliptical tube design that looks as if it’s been bisected. There’s also a unique spire that used for decorative purposes to provide a sort of light show at night.

Worth a look if in the area.

Even though this building isn’t open to the public. This is just amazing. The architecture is amazing, along with the massive sphere standing stall looking over the whole of Milan.
It reminds me of the Burj Khalifa but on a much smaller scale. Definitely worth a visiting if you’re at the business district in Milan.
