Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Firenze is our favorite city in Italy. We’ve been there several times - 4days, then a week, next a month and most recently for two weeks. Can never get enough of Firenze and always something new to explore.
Away from the crowds but on the Oltrano this museum was not crowded but has much to offer. We spent two enjoyable hours here.

This is my kind of museum, small enough that it is not overwhelming, hidden enough that it is not overly busy and plenty of variety in the collection covering a range of items and many centuries. It was really well worth visiting.

The potential of this museum is absolutely huge and I was stunned that I was more or less the only person there; an amazing eclectic mix of items put together by one of the world's greatest-ever collectors. There was some really stunning stuff from ceilings to religious architecture to weaponry. However, I could not help feeling more than a touch lost. While a few items were written up, the majority were not (there were so many on show) so one did not always know what exactly one was looking at. When I asked the staff about certain items which really appealed to me, they generally drew a blank, even with the more important items on show. Further, many of the rooms were too dark to look at them in detail, especially that devoted to the paintings ... given other museums in Florence with really priceless art which were better lit, one can only ask the reason. Overall therefore I was rather sadly left with the feeling that someone needs to take it over and really show it off for what this museum is potentially worth. The wonderful boar aside, I regret that I left feeling uninspired and that was a pity.

Specialty museums - and particularly house museums- offer a close-up and revealing view of the collector and the collections.

Bardini Museum is exceptionally revealiing !

Bardini, himself, was an influential art dealer -- and he shaped museums' practices in displaying (even "staging") art. His home site reveals the way that he did this in use of color (backgrounds of blue); the concentration on focal ("dramatic") pieces; and seeing the past in this way (rather than in chronological periods of time).

The collection, itself, includes pieces that are meant to "impress" the viewer -- and they do ! For examples: An enormous crucifix; a replicca of the iconic Boar of Florence; and early wooden statutes.

Highly recommended for a visit !

We accidentally discovered the Bardini museum on a rainy day in Florence. It was quiet and exquisite. Very reasonable ticket prices. Beautiful exhibits gave me great ideas about decorating at my own house. Go see it an add one more jewel of Florence to your list.

Excellent and eclectic collection of art. Biggest crucifix I've seen and the best. Lots of oddities, including the Boar that was the original in Florence, a copy now in the mercato. Be sure to visit all the nooks and crannies--easily missed stairs in the upper room takes you into several more. Easy walk across the bridge just upstream from the Ponte Vecchio.

In a city like Florence, it is not difficult to find a good museum. However it is difficult to find one that can mix classic with modern and not seems, "Trite". I have done performances among these amazing gems of culture. they also worked with the NYU to house the Black Portraitures Collection. It takes vision and talent to tread in these kind of artistic waters.

Because of Stefano Bardini's foresight and love of architecture, we still have many elements of buildings that were torn down in the 1860s. The museum is quite attractive and easy to navigate. The staff are eager to see more visitors and they will answer your questions about the items on display.

This is a quiet place to visit at a low cost.

In all the times we have been to Florence this was the first visit to this amazing museum.
It is eclectic, a bit of everything from carpets to weaponry,to a room of Madonnas, etc.
They were all artistically presented and set up.
Mr Bardini surely would have been pleased as we were.
We are of a certain age and would have appreciated a chair or bench to sit on but this certainly is not a deterrent to a visit. In the “painting room” the signage was too small as it is quite dark. I hate to end with a criticism as the museum is so wonderful.
