Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We trekked up from Florence for the day. About a 15km round trek up through the back streets which bring you out through San Domenico and then up to Fiesole.
The town was relatively quiet but we found a quaint cafe Gelateria Bar "Ferro Battuto" and had a couple of spritz to get the energy back.
The ruins were great. None of the crowds from Florence, lots of history and if you don’t want to walk then plenty of ways to get up there.
We’ll recommended.

Up in the hills away from Florence. Take the City Tour Bus or the local bus( get tickets before you board it or get fined €200).Nice museum and Roman ruins. Plenty to see. Nicely laid out and in English as well.

One of our guides in Florence had mentioned this museum and the surrounding ruins, located near our hotel in Fiesole. It turned out to be a really outstanding experience, with a small but well done museum outlining the thousands of years of history and the succession of civilizations that lived here. The ruins, mostly dating from the Roman era were very accessible, including for wheelchair or other accommodations. Very worth the time.

This is a lovely museum to visit with exhibits in great condition and the archaeological area next to the museum building is a pleasant and interesting stroll. An hour is probably plenty to visit for most people, but beware the lady at the museum likes to lock up early and gets very crazy when you insist on being allowed to stay until closing time. She wanted to throw us out at 14.40, even though closing time was 15.00.

It was a poor experience, the museum employee yelled at me for breastfeeding my baby (she could've talked and been polite) she was straight up mean yelling and shaming me in front of my fiance and friend. I wonder if this would've happen if I was a stereotyped European citizen... I guess not, it's sad that a nice country has veiled racism! I was able to breastfeed in Vaticano, Uffizi Valerie, Coliseum and Borghese gallery but this, the poorest experience histologically talking couldn't even give me a nice customer service. To finish: It's shameful that a country that has so many naked statues and paints shames a woman that is feeding her baby

the museum was closed at our visit, but the archeological site you can easily walk through in some half an hour. the 7 € entrance fee seems rather exagerated for the site, but anyway, it was nice.

Fiesole is an ancient hill town overlooking the much 'younger' Florence and the museum and archaeological park celebrate its Etruscan and then Roman history. The park itself is relatively small and easy to negotiate, with a Roman theatre (still used for concerts), an impressive bath house and the remains of an Etruscan temple, though the explanatory signs leave a lot to be desired. The museum offers a host of exhibits, though many not from the area, and makes a decent attempt to explain the transition from Etruscan to Roman to Lombard cultures. Covid restrictions meant one-way traffic only and mask-wearing which, in a confined, airless space was slightly uncomfortable. That aside, and in happier ties, well worth a visit.

The site itself is honestly not too much to look at, rather skip it. Maybe more interesting if you haven't visited other ancient sites before. But Fiesole is beautiful though and accessible with city bus.

I love to visit this small Roman theater and some even older Etruscan things. There is also a small museum beside it. It usually does not have many tourists around so you can enjoy the quiet.
