this is well worth a visit, there are some stunning paintings to see as well as sculptures, the lady in charge is most welcoming.

Lovely to see my favourite artists still band together, Ricardo Andrade,Wolfgang Lass , Jeroen Buitenman ,Elvin Freitas , Oleksandr Goncharov.

We visited Funchal at the end of a coach trip round Madeira. The coach was parked up, ready to leave and, as we walked towards it we saw two people trying to sell three paintings outside the Mall. One was a striking black and white oil painting, canvas on board, of John Lennon. It was €30, so we bought it and they wrapped it immediately in brown paper to take back to the UK. They gave us a business card and turns out the seller in the street with his friend, was the artist himself, Ricardo Andrade, who was exhibiting inside. We looked him up and his work is very special, we wished we had time to visit the exhibition. However, back in the UK, we ordered another painting by email, this time of Leonard Cohen. He is painting it to order and posting to us for just €37. His other work is colourful and different. Don't miss the exhibition, I wish we hadn't!

A good selection of different styles of painting and plenty of prints to choose from if you can't stretch to an original. We chatted to Wolfgang Lass and Ricardo Andrade, two of the artists. Different styles but we did buy two prints which will look good on the wall when we get home.

Beautiful art works of artists from different parts of the world. Must visit for art lovers! They also organize life painting/drawing sessions (mostly for themselves, but anyone can join). Great chance not only to view but to participate in art process.
