There is some excellent craftwork in here along with materials to make your own pieces.
Unlike some Duodji I have seen that mostly focus on jewellery or knives, in addition to these there is also a lot of clothing in here, baby shoes, caps, belts, ties etc. There are also some smaller, more accessible pieces, simpler, smaller jewellery pieces and key rings for example.
The staff were informative and helpful and pointed out that the receipt also includes the name of the maker for the items purchased. A great connection to the piece. Highly recommended.

If you want to learn something about Sami culture, I strongly recommend to visit the place. There should be guided tours at 11 AM that costs 8 Euro per person.
On the day when I and my boyfriend were visiting the place, the tour was not supposed to happen. After some discussion, the lady working at the information desk that guides the tour was nice enough to make us a shorter version of the tour, just because we wanted to learn something about Sami culture. I really appreciate this forthcoming step and big thanks for being so nice to us!
On the tour, you will learn about the language, the traditional way of living, the current situation and position of Sami people in Finland, and much more.
It might be a bit tricky to park at Sajos, since it's not clear at the first sight which places are reserved for people working at the center, and which places are for visitors. But with some circling around, you will get it.

We spent a couple of hours here. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour: seeing the traditional costumes of the Sami people, seeing the parliament and learning about their governance, watching the film. The woman who toured us was very knowledgeable, very patient with our many questions and willing to be flexible with what she taught based on our many questions and interests. The examples of traditional clothing and household items was stunning. I especially appreciated seeing the weaving loom with the threads in place, the baby carrying cradles and the textiles. Be sure to spend some time at the gift shop as there is an incredible collection of woven items, stunning knives with reindeer carved handles and jewelry. We had lunch at the cafe: limited selection but high quality ingredients - loved the sandwich of smoked reindeer. It was a fascinating day!! Thank you.

A very interesting and interactive display of thr Sami culture presented in various forms. Also, the outdoor museum was one of a kind and haven't seen such indoor-outdoor museums earlier. Also, a very nice gift shop.

You find a free Sámi handicraft exhibition in Sajos. They also tell about Sámi culture and sustainable tourism within the precincts of Sámi people. After that you know what is right and what isn't right. Besides, they have a shop which sells Sámi handicrafts and jewelry. They are guaranteed to be genuine Sámi products, not any fake copies from abroad.

I visited Sajos after the huge Sámi Museum Siida. After that Sajos seemed to be a very small place. It could be a good idea to take part in a guided tour and see the film about Sámi life.

We came across this government building while geocaching (There's one in the grounds) and went back later to visit the shop but found it was closed. It is the seat of the Sami parliament, protecting their culture and promoting the Sami languages.

This was an excellent place to visit. It’s a beautiful building. The video is a must watch for an insight into the Sami way of life. The exhibits are also interesting and the cafe served really delicious, reasonably priced food. I would recommend coming here on a day in Inari.

If you're a lifelong learner and enjoy learning about the local area and culture then The Sami Cultural Centre is a must see. My favorite room was the room of the seasons. They have a wonderful cafe that makes a nice lunch stop and a fabulous gift shop that has a wonderful selection and reasonable prices. I'm not a big souvenir shopper but I did spend some money here.
