Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Pistoia is not a very well-known city, you mightn’t have heard about it so many times, but it offers some beauties too, such as the beautiful Cathedral of St. Zeno in the main square of the town. It’s in Romanic style, recognizable from the black stripes.

The interior of this church might appear bare, actually inside there is a very special reliquary that definitely deserves to be seen.

Though badly lit we could still see most of the Romanesque structure and columns. It had some later additions, such as the baroque presbytery and altars, and some older parts with medieval frescoes still remaining. the main things inside were a silver altarpiece dedicated to St James and a 13th century crucifix.

The cathedral is located at the Piazza del Duomo and is dedicated to Saint Zeno of Verona. It is a very ancient building, probably from the 10th century with a facade in the Romanesque style, very typical for the city. The church has a single nave with two side-aisles and its interior is spectacular, especially the 13th century silver altar of Saint James.

From the della Robbia ceramic over the entrance, to the main altar, to the spectacular side altar -- all in silver -- depicting the life of St. James, this is a church not to be missed.
