Very good driving in the Canyon
9/2020 • Soolomatka
Cañon de Añisclo is literally the Añisclo Canyon and it is located in Ordesa National Park, in Aragon Region, in the North of Spain. In fact, there is a road following the Canyon, so it is possible arrive there by car. Here you can do some excursions to the deep Canyon, to San Urbez Church or some others. Very nice place.

A beautiful hike
7/2019 • Perhe
We came to Nerin to see and hike this canyon after one week hiking in and around the Ordesa near Torla. This Canyon has quite different charateristics than the Faja trails in Ordesa. It is like a slot canyon cut through by a river. We started from the second parking after having entered the canyon from the side of Nerin. The hike is slightly less strenuous than in Ordesa, has shade most of the time (quite sunny and hot in July) and yet beautiful. We hiked until La Ripareta where we took a rest and soaked our feet in the chilling river. Then we continued until Pasarela Los Estrechos where there is another waterfall, a bridge and rocks to sit on. This second part was slightly more difficult than the first part, yet manageable if one is normally fit. It is not a circular treck. We decided to back track after rest point at Pasarela Los Estrechos.

This canyon is less known and less touristic. However, we rate the hike higher than those in the Ordesa. The logistic of this canyon is also less convenient. If you enter from the side of Nerin by car, you have to park your car in the first parking and walk down the road for minimum 30 minutes to hike into the canyon at the second parking. The second parking can only be reached by car from the side of Vio. This main part of the canyon can be driven though but in one direction, from south to north. We found this arrangement very inconvenient. The way how it is "designed" confirms that it is not catered for mass tourism, unlike in the Ordesa. However, it is free of charge :-))

Take hikes off the standard tracks

We took a route up to Sercue and then down into the canyon. Going out there is a small track across the bridge along the wall. Just fantastic.

Fine guided canyoning tour
8/2018 • Perhe
Had a fantastic 3 hrs. canyoning tour through the beautiful and spectacular Canon de Anisclo with jumps from rocks, water slides and rappel. In all situations you had the choice to walk around the obstacles, if you felt any fear or doubt. The guide (Jose) from SPORTS EKM in Ainsa was inspiring and coached each individual participant as well as the group to their best. At the same time, there was a strong focus on safety. Equipment - wet suit and climbing harness etc. - was tip top. Recommended!

Great circular trek
7/2018 • Perhe
As for the time we visit the area, the road from Escalona HU-631 to the Parking Anisclo was closed. From Puyarruego take the local road towards Buerba , pass the village and you reach well marked parking lot. From the parking take a free shuttle bus down to the canyon entrance, easy and efficient.
Circular east trek leads you to the river we’re you can have a long break under the shade before you complete the trek. If you make it clock wise just before you reach the Ermita San Orbez the trek is splitting and you can take the northbound Path for another hour before it get steeper and return the same way.
Great views, high cliffs closing, small waterfalls. Excellent Chios for hot day or afternoon. A cool Sangria or a snack in one of the restaurants in Buerba will complete the day.

Difficult trek
9/2017 • Soolomatka
I walked up for 5 hours from San Urbez. Was difficult! Steep.
I met only 5 persons on the trail during 10 hours walk. Amazing nature. Worth the effort. Difficult!

Great Hike!! Magnificent Scenery!!
6/2017 • Kaverit
We visited the Canon de Anisclo as part of a 4X4 trip through the Pyrenees.
The usual access road was closed due to rock slides but we decided to try anyway. We were lucky. There were heavy earth moving machines clearing the rocks and we managed to squeeze through.
The drive to the canyon is spectacular in itself, and we stopped at a couple of viewpoints looking into the canyon.
We parked at the bottom and did the shorter of the two circular routes, which was beautiful. We crossed an 800 year old stone bridge which is magnificent.
The bridge and sections of the trail are part of the famous Santiago De Compostela pilgrimage trail.
The hike runs parallel to the river and you can hear and watch the water all along.
Definitely Worthwhile!! Very Impressive!!

Road through canyon has now been blocked, but drive and walk are still very beautiful
7/2017 • Perhe
We were looking forward to the highly recommended drive through the canyon; unfortunately, when we arrived we found out the road has been closed, and may not open again at all, as following some crumbling of rocks, it is now deemed unsafe for travel.

Instead, driving out of Escalona, we followed the signs to Anisclo Canyon. Where the entry to the now blocked road used to be, the signs lead you to cross the river near a camping site, and through a scenic 45-minutes drive in the mountains, to a well-signed parking lot.

There, you find an information booth, and free buses that take you the 5-minutes drive to where trails to the canyon start. Free maps indicate two options for a circular walk: 45-minutes or 3-4 hours, and two options for linear walks (3 hours or 6 hours one way).

We did the short circular walk, which in a short distance packed in a lot of scenery, and a nice beauty spot where you can go down to the river before crossing it.

Once back in our car, we did not return the way we came, but instead continued through another 30 minutes of a beautiful drive to connect with the main road leading back to Ainsa.

Nature with all beauty
10/2016 • Pariskunnat
We drove through this canyon from escalona and all thw way to Broto. The scenery is spectacular, almost unbelievable. As it was "off season" there weren't many visitors, so we stopped many times and also walked a bit around. The view of the rocks and the water far at the bottom is astonishing.

Great drive - beware the sheep!
9/2016 • Pariskunnat
We only drove through this most spectacular canyon. The scenery is thrilling and the driving was at times un poco peligroso because of fallen rocks but it is well worth it. There are some stopping places for photos. We also had to stop for the herd of sheep with their pastores as they crammed through the narrow gap alongside our car. We didn't do the hike - there were hundreds of cars parked at the start point. Instead we drive on up and over the foothills to Broto and then Oto where we had a little lunch in a lovely campsite before driving back to Ainsa.
