Neighbourhood: Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

We had a wonderful time at les arts turcs, we took part in the traditional Turkish printing workshop, and it was by far the highlight of our trip to Istanbul, the master artist Mr fikret was phenomenal, he was such a kind, gentle soul with a real passion for his work. He helped us create a number of prints that we will proudly display in our home when we are back. I would highly recommend this to anyone travelling to Istanbul. You will not regret it!
As a little bonus, his cat Charlie was the absolute cutest!

There is no social distancing nor mask requirement. There are about 50 people in a 100 sq meters room with more than half not wearing mask. Very disappointed that the owner put profit over health protocol.

Les Arts Turcs Tours
Istanbul
Unprofessional and disappointing ceremony ,Misleading advertisement
814835608
They organized a Dervish ceremony as announced on their website at Sirkeci Train Station which cost 20 euro a person , we booked it online and paid , afterwards the place of Dervish ceremony was changed by the tours to Sofi Centre at Sultanahmet and they send us the address where the ceremony will be .
We took a taxi to the address sent by les arts turcs and we arrived to a coffee shop in sultanhmet area called MAM CAFE , ITS NOT A SOFI CENTRE as they said and written on their website , its a small coffee shop, missy with broken furniture and dirty floor , they took us to the second floor passing through the ground floor with toys and furniture , on the second floor the ceremony was held , the second floor area was small about 15 SQ Meters with some chairs , it was unprofessional ceremony due to lack of space and the dresses of the dervish were touching each other due to no space to manoeuvre . they are not credible and the they should not arrange such ceremony in such a place.
observations and facts :
1- The ceremony was held in MAMA Cafe at sultanAhmet and THIS IS NOT A HISTORICAL PLACE NEITHER its a SOFI CENTRE as indicated on the website
2- The place IS NOT SUITABLE for such spiritual event , The place is not suitable for any kind of ceremony
3- The ceremony was not professional
4- The information information on LES ARTS TURCS - TOURS website IS NOT CORRECT and misleading the tourist .
5- It's unprofessional and disappointing that a spiritual Sofi ceremony to be held on a coffee shop only 15 sq meter ,the dervish dresses were touching each other because of the small space , the broken table lamp behind our heads , the dirty floor we passed through going up, the voices from the street .

Well, nice service but high price. All is nice but in reality I expected more. I’ve known the technology of all process but if I knew what really we will do probably I will not go to this masterclass in Istanbul I would do it at my place not for 55 euro but for 5 maybe even less. I’ve understood that I can do it all by my own. That was nice time, they helped me with all but because of it I don’t feet that all of my works is really mine. That’s like someone’s works and I just were close to it and did smt.
But I will back home and use my knowledges and this technology.

This company is amazing, highly recommend their workshops! I was stuck alone in Istanbul and after visiting Topkapi Palace decided I wanted to learn about making tiles. After a quick google search I found Les Arts Turcs & Baazar Istanbul and asked if they could accommodate me for a workshop that day. Despite it already being the afternoon they were able to bring a teacher that same evening to give me a private lesson! I was so impressed by their flexibility but also by the quality of the experience. The teacher was a master and they provided a translator so that we could easily understand each other. She helped me make 2 beautiful tiles and even showed me how I could continue making more at home. I am so grateful that I was able to learn the art of tiles on my last day in Istanbul! Thank you so so much, I will certainly be back again next time I'm in Istanbul! Run, don't walk to Les Arts Turcs, you will feel like family!

We had a wonderful visit with this welcoming community. We want to thank them all for their gracious hospitality. Our journey to the venue was very much enhanced by conversation with fellow guests from Alaska. We found connections with our extended family from Ireland and had a lot of fun. Go for it - who knows who you will connect with. We very much recommend this experience as authentic and engaging with a local community. Many thanks.

My wife and I were impressed with the quality of the bag felting class taught by Ms. Erdu. While I watched, my wife learned felting techniques first developed in ancient Anatolia. She went home with a beautiful bag to remember her experience in Istanbul. I highly recommend the art and cultural experiences offered by Les Art Turcs.

Nobody else than "Les Arts Turcs" will provede the extensive teachings & instructions given by the profesional artists just on the Sultanamenth site.
If needed there is also possible to meet the guides compentent athi:/ uh the university level in some schoosen subject.
In my opinion to pay the price asked for it is a very smart investment.

It is total 3 hours - waste of time. First you meet at the tourists agency “les arts Turcs” who makes the money from your desires to see some authentic culture. Then they give one gentleman 2 minutes of “spiritual” speech in Turkish in order to make the experience “authentic” (this guy later spent the whole ceremony gazing in his cellphone bored to death). That part was absolutely absurd and should have raised a warning sign.
Then you travel for 40 minutes in heavy traffic to one of the most neglected neighborhoods of Istanbul where the ceremony takes place.
I have no bad words to say about the ceremony itself, but get prepared for 2 hours of very religious experience, with Muslim praying of more than 3/4 of the time, and the traditional dancing for 1/4. It is an authentic experience indeed, but it doesn’t worth your 3 hours in that remote location where you cannot leave if you decide that it is enough for you.
Maybe better to have a more touristic experience in the city center for a shorter time

Dear Guest..
This is a religious and a real ceremony in the residential part of the city soo some driving is required to get there.. Also there was a football game and made some traffic..
If you told us that you wanted a tourist show for 30 min, we could direct you to a tourist show place.. In our event we specify about this subject..
Thank You
