Neighbourhood: Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

We wanted to try Ebru Painting and signed up with Alp for a session. Our group consisted of three ladies. We had tons of fun. I had not laughed so hard in a long time. Ebru painting was a different experience for each one of us based on our personalities, strengths and weaknesses. We had great experience!

Absolutely fascinating and moving experience. This is no tourist show but the real thing. The pre-visit explanation of sufism very informative and helpful. Highly recommended.

I had a great 5 days in Sultanahmet, largely due to the help and advice I received from Alp. Through him, I arranged a half-day cruise on the Golden Horn, a Whirling Dervish ceremony, and a full day tour of the main sites (with Mustafa, who was great guide). In addition, Alp kindly offered to assist me in looking for a leather backpack and took me to some of the shops he was familiar with. He really couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The only negative was that after asking me to change the date of the Whirling Dervish performance (due to a lack of demand), when I went to their office to pick the ticket up, it was deserted (apparently because it was Sunday evening), and then when I had my hotel call to find out what to do, I was told that there was no performance that night - although, at my insistence, Alp's partner (Alp was out of the country at that time) managed to make some calls and get me a ticket. So, a little better communication among the team members would no doubt help to prevent these situations from arising. However, I would not hesitate to recommend the wide range of services they offer.

I searched online about this place and I was walking in SultanAhmet area and asked about it, and I did not get lost because many turkish people know about it. and when I went there I took an Ebru lesson and I enjoyed every minute of this amazing art. and they provide other workshop and lessons like turkish Henna, Calligraphy, turkish Tiles and they provide cultural tours. Everyone there very kind they treat me like I am a member of there family and I had an amazing time with them. I Consider it my home every time I go to Istanbul I have to visit it again :)

I wish I had found this earlier in our trip but all in all was a fantastic end!! I used email as my source of communication and the response was direct & quick, was so grateful of Alp and his service. Easy instructions & easy to find right behind the Basilica Cistern. I was greeted with a friendly and welcoming environment and had a great time. The artwork of the henna was beyond amazing and would recommend to all. Can not wait to return to Istanbul and try what else Les Arts Turcs Tours have to offer. Thank you Alp & the team :)

One of the most restful and interesting things we have done in 4 trips to Istanbul was an evening with the Whirling Dervishes. A small gathering for each session in an atmospheric round 'theatre' the group of eight dancers are accompanied by traditional music. Mesmerising. Please dress with appropriate covering of the arms and legs as this is a religious environment.

We were in contact with Alp AKSAHIN from Les Arts Turcs Tours (and Bazaar Turkey). He arranged for us 10 tickets to a football match of Fenerbahce against Bursaspor. We also needed the passalong cards before we could get game tickets. All was arranged by Alp. We hade a great match!

A wonderful experience in the heart of Istanbul. Easy to find right behind the Basilica Cistern. Professional & clean, they use only organic henna. They take appointments and Alp fit us in at the last moment on our last day. A great way to take home a beautiful piece of art from Istanbul. A warm and friendly environment and I highly recommend Les Arts Turcs Tours. We just wish we would of found them our our first day. They offer all kinds of different experiences in Istanbul. Thank you to Alp and our artist for making us feel so welcome in Istanbul. Our henna's might fade but our memories will remain. Thank you ! I love my henna and I already miss Istanbul 😀

I contacted Les Arts Turcs seeking some Turkish music lessons while in Istanbul for a couple days. Alp and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful, and were able to co-ordinate a couple lessons with a local Turkish teacher who played Bendir (Turkish frame drum), Ney (Turkish flute), and sang. With Alp translating, our lessons focused on Turkish rhythm, melody structure, and musical history. The lessons were very informative and it was a great opportunity to connect to a local Turkish musician. Alp and Les Arts Turcs were also very helpful, offering lots of advice about Istanul and helped to arrange some bus tickets and tours. Would highly recommend going to see them if you're in Istanbul.
