Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This palace is the main attraction in the capital, I think. Was the main residence of the Qajar rulers. The palace decorated with mirrors, the garden, the fountains- they are an oasis for the visitors.

The place is in the center of the old town, near all the oldest Tehran neighborhoods. Walking distance from lots of other museums. There is a nice outdoor area when you enter, with beautiful mosaic artworks on the walls, water and green trees. It feels nice and lively to sit and spend time in, specially if it’s not too sunny. It’s an amazing place to take pictures, the architecture of the palace belongs to 16th century and you can witness a long history visiting every hall. My Personal favorite part was “Aks Khaneh” which is an exhibition of the first pictures taken in Iran. Pictures taken by photographers or even the Iranian Qajar king. There are paintings from those times, inspired from European paintings that are worth visiting a few times, as you will find a new story in each frame every time you see it.
There is a hall with walls full of mirror artwork on them and furniture and equipment used by the people in that palace.
Also there is a salon full of presents to the king from different countries, mostly vases and dishes, but very beautiful. Literally ROYAL.
The whole atmosphere is prestigious and you will feel like you have read one more page of the history after seeing there. I recommend visiting in the morning, or less sunny days; but that’s a personal preference since I can’t stand hot weather and the climate in Tehran is hot and dry mostly.
I also visited Golestan Palace once when it was raining before, and that day is my favorite time since the weather had made the color and the whole place look even more beautiful than usual.

A royal palace built in the 16th century, former part of Tehran citadel.
It consists of rose gardens and several buildings.

It was an enchanting experience to visit!

The Golestan Palace was built in the 16th century, renovated in the 18th century and finally rebuilt in 1865. It is the former official royal Qajar complex and you definetely cannot miss it visitting Tehran. It would be just good to add more places to sit in the garden to relax during exploring this beautiful place.

This magnificent palace is one of Iran's most famous and beautiful historical sights, which is located near 15 khordad metro station. I went there again (after years) with my one of my friends on Dec 25. We grabbed 2 hot chocolates from Moslem takeaway cafe(locally in Bazaar) , and started wandering the palace. I recommend that you visit every part.
