ART NOMURA has produced kakejiku for over 45 years. Although our company is a manufacturing wholesaler, it also sells retail because we have our own gallery. The kakejiku (a hanging scroll; a work of calligraphy or a painting which is mounted and hung in an alcove or on a wall) is a traditional Japanese art. ART NOMURA is the best place to enjoy Japanese art. Of course you can purchase kakejiku. Saturday (2th and 4th), National Holiday and Sunday

Firstly, extremely sorry for this late review as I have been traveling non-stop since I returned from Japan! Gomennasai !
I have been searching for another kakejiku for my new office and found Art Nomura on Google. On my recent trip to Osaka, I decided to make the journey to Kobe and was extremely surprised by the vast collection that they had for me to choose from (it is very hard to find kakejikus in Japan but this place is a gem). You will not be able to fully appreciate how professional and passionate these lovely people are until you meet them in-person. They were so patient in helping me shortlist and decide on which one would suit the colour scheme of the room. I was very pleased to find one that I truly liked and I have it hung proudly on my backwall in time for the Chinese Lunar New Year.

I went to Art Nomura because we lived in Japan and I wanted to buy a scroll to remember our time there. I was amazed first at the kindness of the people there — I speak some Japanese but the person who helped me had really good English. Second, they have a good variety of scrolls & he knew them well, so I could tell him the type of things I like (landscape with waterfall…sunset with ocean), my budge and he would pull them from the stock for me. It was a very smooth process and I enjoyed it! Actually I fell in love with 2 scrolls that I bought.
I would highly recommend Art Nomura to residents of Kobe and visitors looking for beautiful scrolls.

I visited Art Nomura during my stay in Kobe. The store was an easy 12 minute walk from the Tarumi train station using Google Maps.
I did not have anything specific in mind so Tomoko Nomura spent the time to understand my preferences in Japanese Hanging Scrolls. The store had an extensive collection of scrolls, but she looked for the pieces that would match my preferences. There were several scrolls that I liked so it was a difficult decision in choosing just one. Both Yuuichi and Tomoko Nomura were very helpful and gracious. They were very accommodating on delivering the scroll to my home in Hawaii since it would have been difficult for me to hand carry it on my flight. I received my scroll in the mail soon after arriving back home and am extremely happy with my purchase. Mahalo to the Nomura `Ohana (family) for their kind hospitality and help in finding the perfect scroll for my `Ohana.

The owners warmly welcomed me and took a lot of time to help me find the right materials for mounting my henro scroll.
They provided good advice based on cultural, religious and esthetic points of view but are also really flexible when it comes to customers choices.
5/5 experience so far.
Can't wait to see the result after the artist has mounted it😊
