Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A very nice quiet beach, with blue cristal clear water. Perfect for swimming and relaxing. Different from other Gavdos beaches because of the rocks. We went from Vatsiana village with a 4x4 car and we stop after 10+ minutes because of road problems. We walked 20 minutes - 1+km but it is not an easy path if you are not a fit person. But the view from chair and the sea worths.

Tripiti beach is considered to be the top field trip in Gavdos Island.
You can visit the place by boat/yatch or on foot either from Korfos or Vatsiana. From Korfos the trail is about 4km long. From Vatsiana Village is closer about 3km but more difficult.
I recommend to wear the necessary hiking shoes. (SOS)
The water was crystal clear...deep blue. It's ideal for snorkelling. Usually during the day is really hot so don't forget to carry water with you. There is no canteen over there so it's important to carry something to eat and drink.
The atmosphere over there is magic and sometimes there are naturists enjoying the beach there. This is the southern beach of Europe and it's great.
The beach is rocky and there is no sand.
I totally recommend this field trip.

You can walk to Tripiti beach following a path either from Vatsiana or Korfos. The name of the beach is after the hole (trypa in Greek) in the rock. By the side of the beach there is a wooden chair that marks the southernmost part of the European continent. It was built by some Russian Chernobyl survivors that live permanently on the island. It’s height is the height of an adult. The walk to the beach from Vatsiana is about 3.5km and takes you around 1h and 15mins to get there. The beach is pebble beach that will only provide a cool down after your walk. Behind the beach there is a dried sea lake with stone signs visible on google maps! On the beach there are the remnants of a refugee boat that landed there a couple of years ago. Take plenty of water with you and wear appropriate shoes (not flip flops). Access to the chair can be trick, at least the way we took required a bit of climbing. Plan wisely so you can come back before it gets dark. Time sets around 8:20 in early August. You can watch the sunset from the top. 600kcal worth of exercise! Need a cold beer now!

Very nice quiet beach, with Cristal clear water. Perfect for swimming, snorkelling and relaxing. Try on the way back the taverns from Stella and Agisilaos, (approximately 3km from the beach) for a perfect end of the day!

Last summer was our second visit to Tripiti Beach, and the landmark chair that sits on the most southern point of Europe. The first time we walked (mid-day) from Korfos. Not recommended unless you have an extremely high heat tolerance. But this time we left the car in Vatsiana, then walked down the road along the sea through the ruins of a couple old villages along the way. We timed our walk with the sunrise, when the temperature was perfect and the colors were amazing.
As an avid naturist, I did most of the trek sans clothing. Only passed a few others along the way, fully clothed, but nobody seemed to care. Tripiti Beach is frequented by naturists, and we got the obligatory pics on the chair, naturist and otherwise. Early in the day, the walk is not too strenuous, and totally worth the effort.

An outstanding place. Better to me there after 18.00. Better way to go is definitely through Korfos. 70 minutes walking distance. If your 4x4 is very good, then try the road from Vatsiana. Starts just from your right hand before the taverna at the entrance of the village. You can go down to the old houses, then 20 minutes walk. Beautiful.

We visited Tripiti Beach by boat. It is the southernmost beach of Europe, right next to the southernmost point of Europe, Cape Tripiti - with the three beautiful arcades and the famous chair. If you do not feel like trekking in the hot sun, ask Gavdos Cruises when they are going to make a trip to Tripiti Beach - from Karave (Gavdos) or from Hora Sfakion (Crete).

80 minutes on foot from Korfos or 30 from Vatsiana (remote village). Nice beach and have fun with the chair.
