    Honest family review
This is an honest review ! The hotel is lovely , very large , nice pools for the kids and friendly bar staff . The food is nice lots of options at the buffet and snacks through the day great to go with young kids . Night entertainment was great and we enjoyed it and the kids loved it .The only downside our room was above reception in the main block and it’s so loud you can’t sleep due to bar downstairs open till 11 than some rude guests with no consideration up till all hours on the balcony’s . We had two young children so that was the only negative , we asked to be moved but apparently no other rooms free even though I saw a lot empty , if you stay request to be not in that block if you want sleep . We also overlooked a noisy go kart track . It didn’t ruin our holiday we had a great time and apart from very ignorant guests pushing and shoving at the buffet it was a lovely trip . There are two adorable cats who live on hotel grounds just so cute ! Thanks for a nice trip

All round fantastic all inclusive holiday for young families
We spent a week at Star Beach Village with our extended family 7 adults and 6 children ranging from 1-8 yrs old. Our accommodation was in 3 standard family rooms in the same avenue which worked really well with the two separate sleeping areas. All the facilities and restaurants were only a 5 minute walk away. The setting is picturesque with beautiful palm trees and kept clean at all times. There are numerous pool areas with young children’s slides and exciting flumes as well as the lovely cove beaches. There were always enough loungers every day. The entertainments and facilities were superb and extremely child friendly. Food wise, we started at the main Minos restaurant which has the most incredible buffet selection for all tastes. Our son had particular dietary needs but the Executive Chef, Giorgio, was always there to cook something special - he was so kind. We also at the quieter and smaller Cretan restaurant and again the food was fabulous with freshly cooked meats and different selections every day. The chef and waiters could not have been more helpful and cheerful. This was especially noticeable as we were a party of 13 sitting down every day. Eleni and all staff made us so welcome. The food always looked fresh. For the pools large yellow were provided every day at the Pool Bar. The holiday was truly all inclusive with drinks and food (inc ice creams) free all day. We all loved our holiday and would love to come back again next year. Thank you to all who made our holiday so special.

Great view, great people, excellent food/drinks, nice beaches.
Star Beach was a great experience, and I'd like to mention the bartenders at the main pool and bar, especially the older guy, white hair (Astrinos if I remember well). They had a significant contribution to maintaining an excellent environment, overall an excellent holiday. I will have to return one day.

    Great waterslides!
We visited Star Beach to enjoy the waterpark. The slides open at 11am and cost €10 per person for unlimited use. Despite it being August & school holidays, we didn't queue at all for the slides. My teenage children had so much fun and it was well worth the money spent. We also paid for sunbed use which was €8 for each sunbed and €4 for an umbrella. We had lunch there which was a fast food place selling hotdogs, hamburgers, gyros etc. The meals we bought were a generous portion & all came with chips. There is also access to a small beach with lots of different watersports. We had a wonderful day and wouldn't hesitate to return! Just one thing to mention, there is a daily foam party which young people start turning up for from 3pm - music gets louder & the pool gets much busier. Didn't bother us at all though - in fact my son wanted to stay to see the foam party!

    unforgettable vacation 2nd time
We would like to express our thanks to the hotel staff during our stay. (03.08-10.08.2023) Nikos at the reception was very attentive and responsive when we arrived late at night. We are grateful for the possibility of dinner at night. We were pleasantly surprised when we got a room that suited our needs, with a wonderful view of the sea (room: 8406). Nikos and John (Thassala Bar), -Grigorios (Helios Lobby Bar) were endlessly kind, smiling and attentive to us. Astrinos (Dionyssos P Bar) greeted us as a friend, we met him four years ago when we first arrived at the hotel. The cleaning staff did a flawless job, they did what we asked for. Finally, we thank all the workers, we ate divine food and relaxed in a wonderful environment. We had an unforgettable vacation! Crete is our favorite vacation spot!

    Busy place
Noisy busy place. Plenty to do. Things for younger children to be kept amused and bars and sun beds for older ones to higher. Shops are varied. Worth a visit to get the vibe or to stay for an afternoon and sit and watch the world go by.

    Fun place. Lots going on.
We didn't spend long at Star Beach. Looked great for teenagers though. It was free to enter and then you pay for the basics - hire of sunbeds, food, etc - and it felt like then you could use the pools and slides.

The place is fantastic and I strongly recommend it for all kind of holidays, the security is so supportive but please keep distances from the retailers!! I'm particularly talking about the braids shop : they are very rude and don't even know what costumer service does mean.

Went here in mid August 2023. Wanted a place to go on a few water slides with one child without paying entry for husband and son who aren't into water parks. Heard about Star Beach so gave it a go.
€10 per wrist band for the slides. There were 4 different ones, with multiples of a couple.

Good things:
*Arrived at 3pm, plenty of sunbeds available, park not overly busy.
*Plenty of inflatable rings for the slides. Been to parks in Spain where rings cost extra or there aren't enough, no problem here.
* No queues. So we got to ride the slides loads all afternoon.
* Food and drinks reasonably priced also no queues, can take own snacks and plenty of toilet and changing facilities.
* Can access small beach and water sports available. Also bungee jumping which provided entertainment all afternoon for husband and son not doing slides as they watched many people jump off the top of the crane over the sea 😂
* Lifeguards seemed attentive, looked after their area and were making sure little ones got out the way at the end of the slides etc.

Downsides:
*€20 euro for 2 sunbeds and umbrella, most we paid anywhere all holiday. (You only pay when they come around, and bloke only came by just before we left...) So basically if not doing slides you still going to have to shell out €...
*Crazy loud music. In the centre of the park is a 'VIP' area with day beds and a swim up bar for 18+ pumping out insanely loud music from speakers. The slides were a little away from this but still not really a family vibe. I heard there were foam parties there in the afternoons although we didn't see one.
* Lazy river....was, extremely lazy. No current and only circles the loud VIP area, rather than a quiet zone. Basically you have to walk or swim around it cos the current is non existent. Not allowed to take inflatable rings from slides into the lazy river.
*Beach area small and the only area that was busy. Crammed with sunbeds, certainly better bits of beach around than this overcrowded bay.
* Hotels rooms on site look directly over the water park.../outdoor disco. Would be a loud place to stay if you at hotel nearby.

So it ticked the box for a few slides, but did feel like it was more aimed at the clubbing /party types than families.

Nice beach, but not very clean. Too many beds in one place. The price for umbrellas and beds is the highest in the area. 20 eur / set.

I was here with my family on 30/7-23 and we had looked forward to give the kids some fun in their pools. The pools were full of sand and felt dirty. We began to feel hungry and thirsty, to I tried to order snacks and drinks, the bar was totally empty and the waiter took new customers instead of taking my order, after 15 minutes I were annoyed after just standing there like a fool and went to the neighbouring bar Melteimis instead, service right away and a very pleasant encounter. We won’t come back to star beach again but give the other place warm recommendations (Meltemi Beach).

Booked this as a family holiday, however they don’t advertise there is a 18+ bar/pool on site which they call ’VIP’. This means club music is extremely loud most of the day and into the early hours of the morning! You can hear it clear as day in your hotel room! We had a young group of males next to us in the hotel, shouting in the early hours of the morning and arguing very aggressively early hours of the morning, informed staff and they said it was too busy to move us and even if they could move us we could experience this is another part of the hotel?! If you want a family holiday, rethink this hotel!!! It is more like a 18-30 holiday!! We have 4 more days left and am shattered, can’t sleep in the day due to noise and music goes into the early hours of the morning! The pools are lovely and the food is good but we paid a lot off money for a FAMILY holiday not a club land experience!! If we were informed of this we would not have booked this resort!!! Very disappointed!!!!
