Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a gem! Stumbled upon this area when in town to meet family. Cool use of the space and plenty of varieties and titles. Great prices and displays. Tons of different books on the sidewalk to fill a bag for $15.

Excellent bookstore. Just when you think you have come to its end, it takes off down a different hallway or onto a different floor. Truly a gem. My son and I spent hours inside over a two day period, and returned home with a few additional books.

Do not buy or go to this store. They try to steal from there customers. They take items that where meant to be sold to there customers and up the price to double on eBay. Scam alert

Placed an order, received an email confirmation. However, nothing after that. I wrote the email number they gave me for queries about 5 times never to have a response. I called 3 times, received one general response phone call (on voice mail) saying only they would ask someone in the right department to look into it, then nothing and nothing to my follow up phone calls. There are so many responsible booksellers. This is not one of them.

This is a huge Independent Bookstore-one of a vanishing breed. Has a very comfortable antique feel..kind of like stepping back in time. Great selection and regularly hosts lectures and book signings by national and well known authors-for example Salman Rushdie who recently appeared.
Add extra time to browse the bargain books of which there seem to be thousands. There is a small free lot behind the store. On-street parking is limited, meter controlled and fairly costly. Neighborhood not necessarily the best but is steadily gentrifying. Baked goods and very good coffee are available. If you don't see what you want, just ask-it's most likely available.

There is a large assortment of books. They do their best to organize but I drove 45minutes from Gettysburg to an overpriced bookstore where I can get the same selections online at Amazon for less.

There is coffee, teas and bakery selections but on a Sunday in March.. it was a bit empty. There were also assorted homeless men (obvious) hiding in corners of the building which seemed to be a put off for some.

This large, welcoming bookstore is well stocked with all the latest books as well as a large collection of used books on all topics. The children’s section, the art books, the history books, and the fiction are some of my favorites. They host talks by current authors, sell coffee and yummy snacks. You can curl up in any number of comfy armchairs and spend a few golden hours. Not to miss! Oh, and it’s the mayor’s business. How cool is that?!

Someone suggested we stop here and boy are we glad we did!
It was such a great experience. The books are amazing and they never end! Just when you think you’ve seen them all, you enter another room of treasures!

This is an amazing book collection that still exists in city limits. Many book sellers who have extensive collections are mostly on-line only. Although it is fun to meander through the many rooms of this place, it is hardly a browsing bookstore--even with its nice signage and organization. If you have a particular interest/book/author, ask and be directed. Otherwise you will have little hope of finding it.
There is a nice little cafe with fair trade coffee and tea, nice prices, and the hospitality to stay as long as you like and play with your laptop.

Great building, solid staff, I think if I lived here I's send entire winter weekends here (I KNOW I'd spend a lot of money here!). Amazing collections on things that are sparse at many stores: art and art history, photography and architecture. Just a treasure. Do NOT come to Harrisburg and miss it if you love books.
