Beautiful!

One of the most beautiful beaches I have visited. We came here whilst on a family weekend away. We visited here during the day then again during the sunset. Definitely worth a visit especially if your a member of the national trust as you can benefit from the free parking.

Clean and small beach - no dogs summer months
8/2020
Small beach which is great for surfing but not as a sandy beach for children.
Dog friendly for some of the year but not during height of the season but best check.

There is a car park but it has limited spaces and if you can’t get a space, you have to drive a long way up hill and see if you can get lucky.

Small cafe where snacks and ice-cream, coffee etc is available. Prices are reasonable but not cheap.

Low tide can reveal a largish beach of wet sand. There is almost no dry sand, so if you park yourself on the sand, you’re unlikely to be able to spend the day in that single location as the tide will force you to move.

Still, if you get there just as tide has revealed some of the sand, you’ve got a good few hours before it goes all the way out and back in again.

Cliff walks are good and views excellent. It’s easy to walk to a couple of disused but good condition wheal houses within 15 mins.

Parking is currently: £2 for 1 hour. £4 for 4 hours or £6 all day

Overall a good, clean, beach

Lovely beach

This is a nice beach, with at low tide plenty of sand and fantastic rock pools to explore. The beach has good facilities including a great pub at Driftwood. Car parking is tight so be warned get there early.

Stunning views
12/2020
A beautiful winter day means a beach trip, so Chapel Porth hit the spot. Hadnt been here for a long long time, about 30 years in fact, and wasnt disappointed. I remember a stunning beach and clifftop walk, and thats what we found. Stunning views from the coast path down on to the sea (tide was in) with lovely colours in the water. Easy walks to Wheal Coates mine, though park there as its cheaper than the beach car park. Its a fairly easy walk down to the cafe at the beach car park from there.
All in all a very pleasurable visit and worth a lot more investigation!

Wonderful location. Parking free to NT members. Toilets very clean. Cafe staff friendly and a lots of variety on the menu. We walked both sides of the beach. A little tricky at times but we'll worth the effort. Fantastic views.
Plenty of vitamin sea and fresh air consumed!

The is no place like foam

Stopped here on a wet and windy day in October half term. Free to NT members and took a walk to the Wheal House up the hill for some great but gusty views. Rewarded ourselves with an ice cream on our retun to the van which was now covered in foam to the amusement of all. Love it here but is probably rammed on sunny days but we like the storms too.

Waves
11/2020 • Pariskunnat
A beautiful if somewhat smaller beach than I expected. The one side of the beach is quite rocky underfoot. We visited on quite a blustery day and were wrong footed by a wave which appeared out of nowhere and totally soaked us. Just shows what an unpredictable beast the sea is. I wish I could say more but we were so wet we had to head back to our accommodation to change😂🤣

Small but well appointed

I visited the beach today, on the walk along the south-west path. My visit consisted of a quick loo stop and purchasing a drink from the café. The toilets at the café were both very clean and there was sufficient social distancing and COVID-19 PPE in place. The car park looked To have sufficient spaces and there was a National Trust member of staff at the bottom of the entrance road. The beach looked very clean with a mixture of sand and rock and the water was blue and clean with several people surfing in it. A nice little beach with decent amenities well worth a visit if in the area.

Must go back in better weather!

Pretty little cove on NT land. Free car park for members and cafe available. Sadly the day of our visit was wet and windy, so need to return.
