Not worth it

I visited this church and found that the frescos or paintings didn't have much artistic value. It has been "deschristianised", meaning that it's no longer a church has no crosses or similar. In a country so full of free, amazing churches, I found that this one was not worth it.

Worth a visit

This building has some amazing frescoes and decorations, with lovely high ceilings. At the time of our short visit, it was hosting an exhibition of Cervantes and Don Quixote. It was only a couple of euros to get in, and was a pleasant little visit.

Interesting - worth a visit

We were pleased to pay the small entrance fee(1 or 2 euros) as the old church is worth seeing in itself. Beautifully decorated with Baroque carvings and frescoes. There are temporary exhibitions on there - August 2016 there was a very interesting exhibition of the theatre - Cervantes, puppets, costumes, posters and paintings. Well worth a look.

A Spanish Church that's a Little Different
8/2015 • Pariskunnat
This municipal-run attraction costs a couple of Euro to see, and the first "ooh" and "aah" are worth the modest price. It's all about the brightly colored and wonderfully naive fresco paintings on the walls and ceilings, and the story behind the place: The last heir to a huge family fortune wanted to fund this Augustinian monastery, but the local Jesuits fought tooth and nail for the inheritance they thought should go to them. The Agustinians soldiered on, but nobody ever really won... and now both monasteries are gone out of business! Still, we have this pretty tribute to bygone tastes. Worth a look.
