Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Disgusting!!! We passed by and saw elephants from the street. They had a chain around their ankle. You can feed the elephants for 100 bath. I don’t understand people are still doing this and playing money to these institutions. Disgusting!!

Anywhere you can ride an elephant is unethical. Search on Google on how their “spirit is broken” - no animal should be treated like this. Do not be part of the problem. Find a sanctuary where the elephants roam free instead!

In a Buddhist country how you can treat animal like that? No compassion it’s so cruel. If you participate in this horrible thing you are in complicity

Unbelievable that this is still possible! Please tourists, stop riding elephants! They're chained for most of the day and that's not how it supposed to be. Stop putting money in these kinda organizations!!

Ban Chang Elephant reserve is an ideal venue to admire nature and enjoy a great meal.
Fun trampolene time and playground ensured the kids group were kept entertained so I could enjoy a steak sandwich, Thai salad and a few ice beers.
Obliging and fun staff made it a great day !

I am not kind of sensitive person, but i must say, i came there and i could not hold some tears, when i faced the elephants eyes.
I read before about, and it wasnt my intention to do riding elephant, the only thing i wanted was to see if its really how people say. It is. Camps like those should be forbidden.
I understand the people who work there, they need just a salary like everybody else. But i could not let even 1 baht there.
Thats my honest opinion.

Disgusting animal abuse to these poor elephants. They were beating elephants when I dove by in early morning. The elephants are chained to ground. Do not ride elephants, the only reason they let you sit on them and walk you around is because of the beatings.

Giants in chains. The elephants seem not very happy, but the opportunity to see an elephant so close.

Do you honestly think these magnificent, intelligent creatures enjoy being ridden and constantly hooked by some a-hole? Don’t be an idiot: feed, care for, swim and connect with these animals, DON’T RIDE THEM.
