Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful island within a National Park.
Ss most people we joined a large boat and travelled the 1 hour from Bang Bao on Koh Chang.
The only thing. that spoilt the beauty and tranquility was the hoard of life-jacketed tourists, almost entirely Thai. It was literally like an ant's nest in the water.
On a plus side I was pleased to note how healthy the corals were.
Worth a visit inspite of rent-a-crowd laden boats.

We took the snorkeling from Koh Mak to Koh Rang. The boat was big and wooden. The trip was from 10 am to 2 pm. It cost 750 Baht a person. They provided fried rice for lunch. We saw a lot of beautiful fish. However we didn’t get on the beach on the island. We had lunch on the boat.

The Koh Rang Nature Park is beautiful, clean, with many corals to make snorkeling and vibrantly coloured beaches, the park is protected by the government so everything is well maintained. To reach them are offered many daily tours from all day 9:30 to 4:30pm (arrival time at the pier), with good food, snorkeling and free water, the price is about 700 or 800baths including the 200baths entrance fee to the park. If you are in Trat, Koh chang or some of the nearby islands, it is worth doing this tour, you will see many beautiful marine animals. It doesn't matter if you don't know how to swim, the staff takes you hand in hand to make the face so you don't miss the opportunity.

Ko Rang is relatively far from Ko Chang but if you intend to stay at Ko Mak or visit it then you have to stop at Ko Rang.
Actually I don't think any available boat trip would skip it.
We did some snorkeling there and since we were there in December, the sea was beautiful and the water clear.
There are of course better places to dive in Thailand but if you are in Ko Chang, Ko Mak or Ko Kut so try to go this Island.
I have attached a few pictures of our boat trip with the Koh Mak Divers that I will review later as well.

The Thailand government has done an excellent job to maintain the natural environment. This island and adjacent islands forms the Marine National Park of Ko Rang. The coral reefs at Ko Yak Lek Is absolutely beautiful.

However, the downside at this water district is the cloudiness at depth beyond 3 meters and therefore is not the best place for Diving. Ko Tao, Ko Lipe will be better.

Also, as there are too many Tourists coming here for swimming (as most of them wear life vests snorkelling ), the large fishes were mostly hidden inside the reef. Only smaller fishes were found but spectrum is narrow.

In fact, if you come before May, you have more choices like Ko Mak, Ko Kuud. Yet, Ko Rang will also closed from June till October.

During Early May to Mid May is best timing as slow season begun.

Hidden inside the Gulf of Thailand, the shades of blue and the crystal clear waters will blow your mind. The water is crystal clear with lots of marine life. A brilliant place for snorkeling and diving. A must visit when in Koh Chang !
