Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We made such an effort to go here because it was rated as one of the top ten beaches in Puglia, but I don’t know how that can be - we have visited ten nicer beaches near Porto Caesarea where we are staying let alone elsewhere in Puglia. The points made in many other reviews are true. It is a very long way to walk, and although it is pleasant to walk through the pine wood, this was after a longish walk down a road from Parcheggio A. We arrived at 4.45, and were the only car in the car park at that time, with no-one to take our money. There was a sign on the way to the dinosaur footprints, which we made a detour to look for, but couldn’t find, as there are no further indications of where they are. The Baia di Turchi is much smaller than expected. Over half of it is taken with concessionary sun beds and umbrellas, with small public areas at each end. The small coves along the way have floating plastic bottles and other rubbish amongst the branches and seaweed, which is off putting. The buoys marking the swimming area are so close to shore, they are no more than ankle deep in a shallow sea. I was then told off by the lifeguard (from the private beach area) for going further into a slightly wavy sea on the basis there were currents, which there weren’t at all, not even slightly. Really, don’t bother.

Beautiful small beach , with crystal clear - blue water.

Worth a visit - if you park in the correct carpark there is a shuttle bus to beach - otherwise a 3 km walk.

Beautiful white sandy beach with crystal clear waters. Amazing views and different shades of blues with a long shore. The place was packed with tourists but we decided mainly for our comfort to rent two lounges and an umbrella which was really worth it.
You will need a good 30 minutes walk to get to the beach as the parking lot is far. Remember you will need to walk back the same path to get to the car but it was really worth it. Highly recommended beach to go to.

It is probably one of the most famous beach of the area, where turkish pirates landed five centuries ago. In june is amazing, maybe in august is full of turists.

We went there very early in the morning in order to take two beds and an umbrella. We spoke with the owner of the only one available lido on the beach. She said that there was availability and we asked to pay by credit card. She looked at us like two weirdos and she didn't accept the payment by credit card. Unfortunately only by cash(which is illegal). The excuse was about the card machine didn't have the right coverage to process the payment. My phone worked perfectly three metres to the right. We had just a few coins with us and I had to manage to deal with a guy on the beach in order to buy an umbrella and place it on the free beach. In a couple of hours we were sorrounded of thousand people. They just care to fill up the car parking without thinking that the capacity of the beach is just for the half of the size of the parking itself. At 2pm we left!
The water is beautiful but it's not worth the experience.

Nice bay, nice walk into it. Quite crowded though. Clear waters. Had a good swim and a bit snorkling. Nice to spend a part of the day.

It is a beautiful beach but crowded. Paid 5€ for parking which includes a lift to the forest then you walk 1km to the beach. No facilities such as toilets. Only little food stands that sell panini and drinks.

The bay owes its name to a historical fact (the Turkish invasion of Otranto and the consequent siege). The sea is beautiful and there is a natural swimming pool. Few bathing establishments. From a paid parking (4 euros) you can take a free shuttle to reach the beach. Highly recommended.

Drove up to this beach for a bathe. It is lovely, but be aware that you have to park quite a way from the beach and it is a walk through the wooded area. Once there, no facilities on the beach, but I think a bar is open in high summer.
