Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Incredible views from the top, 137m above sea level😊 will be very hard to get to the top but is worth it for the views. You can take amazing photos . Make sure you have proper shoes for that. I made it in my sandals but was quite slippery in some of the parts. This was 2nd time for me in this place and I still have to get to the top.

It's about a 20 minute walk from the beach up to the fortress but the views are more than worth the hike in the heat.

Walking to the top takes 10-15 minutes and during hot summer days it requires bit of an effort. However once you reach the fortress it gets paid off as views are amazing. Two hour stay is recommended, first hour to visit fortress and second one to refresh on a beach.

There is a decent climb up to the Venetian fortress, of which rather little is left. One can still visit the chapel, and see where the walls were. The reason to climb up however, are the great views of the bays surrounding the fortress, located on an island. For those unwilling to climb up, there is a nice beach at the bottom, and even there there are great views. There is also a ruined boat lying inside the bay.

The views from the fortress are exceptional. The climb is easy and it takes 10-15 minutes max. Look for the venetian lion by the gate

Its an impressive site for sure but climbing the 400 steps to 134m altitude is not for everybody. On top the vista and scenery makes up for the hardship suffered.

For those who love history, this could be a start to dig deeper on the fortress and its surroundings. The climb is amazing, you better be prepared and it will take 20 min at a good pace. The beach below, I wouldn’t call it amazing, it’s rocky everywhere...but, I guess after the climb and descend you will need to chill out...then, you simply enjoy it’s refreshing waters. Nothing else.

We stopped there fir 1h on the way back of the cruise from Balos lagoon (amazing!)
Beautiful isolated tranquil beach in blue and emerald crystal clear waters.
A shirt 15' uphill hike to the fortress at the top of the island where you can find exclusively local flora and breathtaking views of the beach and surroundings. After which you are rewarded with a splash in the warm sea waters of libian see.
Highly recommended!!!
