Beautiful
7/2019 • Perhe
Unexpectedly beautiful. Total contrast between inside (beautiful paintings and artifacts) and outside (plain and functional great piazza). Worth a visit if you are into churches.

Elegant, classical church
7/2019 • Soolomatka
Nicely proportioned, classical style church with interesting ornaments. The large cruciform reliquary display is a fine example of the jeweller's art.

Another church but if in town visit
10/2018 • Pariskunnat
Italy is so graced with amazing churches that this doesn’t stand out but it’s place in the grand piazza and its interesting enough interiors make it worth a short visit

Intersting church in a very nice square
7/2017 • Pariskunnat
What to me was really amazing was the fact that the facade of the church was bent inwards, something you can only realize if you look at it from the side. It makes a great couple with the tower of Pisa!

Lovely dome to visit, the square is full of cafeterias to enjoy your stay there. Worth to visit when you are in Palmanova

Love the mosaic wall outside the chapel
8/2016 • Kaverit
The church is very similar to many other churches in Italy. But they did a wonderful job in maintaining the painting in the main altar - the depth and vibrant color of the painting in the ceiling dome is great.

I am most impressed by the mosaic painting along the wall just outside the chapel. It is so colorful and detail. The chapel is on the left side of the sanctuary, don't miss it.

One of many

Italy is full of churches, this one is nothing special, but worth spending a while. Just go inside and light a candle for any of your family or friends.

One and only
8/2016 • Perhe
This is the main attraction in Palmanova in the central sqare. When you coming in Palmanova you must see Duomo because is it only one attraction with main square as itself.

Interesting
5/2015 • Perhe
This is a must-see attracting in Palmanova, but just because there is no much else to see and is conveniently located. The church on its own is interesting but nothing special if you compare it to other Cathedrals in Italy.

The best way to take in the extraordinary perimeter of the walls surrounding the town is from a small low-flying plane
12/2014 • Pariskunnat
The best way to take in the extraordinary perimeter of walls surrounding the town is in a small low-flying plane. Still intact forming a 9-pointed star, with a network of streets in the form of spokes that lead to the central piazza, the walls are one of the best remaining examples of military architecture from the Renaissance.
However, since we arrived like most visitors on foot, tours of the ramparts, bastions, underground walkways, gates and check-points are well organised. We started at the Civic Historical Museum where an exhibition traces the evolution of the city from its beginning in 1593 to WW1.

We were told, that despite its bucolic location and wonderfully preserved landmarks, Palmanova hasn't always been an 'ideal city' of Renaissance culture, nor did it fulfill the role of a fortress in defence of its territory.

Be that as it may, the city's most important building look out onto the Palazzo del Proveditore, the loggias and the most significant structure, the Duomo.
