Almost a cathedral. Worth a visit. Wonderful carvings and statues. very sadly damaged in 1940, but well restored. See the tree of Jesse and some Norman statues rescued after the war damage.

The castle sits on the highest hill in Gisors, providing a perfect defensible site. There is a palpable sense of medieval history here, even if you lack a knowledge of the events that took place here. A motte and bailey crown the hill and enough of the surrounding walls are still in place to see how it once was. We had no time to take a tour but it would be well worthwhile. Even so we enjoyed the tranquility of the small park within its walls. It was free to visit.

We have spent an afternoon at this place following suggestion of a friend.

Overall, the place is OK. The activities available are rather simple and for some of them you have to extra pay.

We paid 10€ each, comprising our 4 year old. Moreover, we had to buy their coins, 9 for 10€. In all, 40€ for three, which is expensive in my opinion.

The place was not too crowded for a nice sunny Sunday. It was clean, with plenty of place.

Picnic was another issue. They have a picnic area, which is basically the parking. You are not supposed to eat anywhere else, what is a pitty since they got beautiful grass fields.

Staff was ok, they were not many. Some toys were rather old and rusty, but functional.

It's worth to give this place a try. Not sure if we are coming back though.
