Alfie Jazz House is a great spot, not necessarily a hole in the wall as it's been there for over 40 years and is known as a key jazz destination. I found myself there early March, during the covid-19 scare so the crowd was quite diminished but that was the only thing lacking! The band was incredible, the staff were attentive and kind, and the atmosphere was utterly perfect. If you are in Tokyo and enjoy a drink and some jazz (I can't speak to the food as I didn't have any, but i'm sure its wonderful), then make sure you check out this spot. The owner has supposedly ran the place for about 40 years and she was there that night, always a pleasant sight to see the owner enjoying their own establishment. Again, this is a must attend, even if you aren't the jazz enthusiast I pretend to be, i'm sure you'll enjoy yourself. Also to note, it's right next to the subway stop, so super accessible. I'm sure they fill up quickly on busy nights, so maybe call ahead and reserve, you can view their schedule online.
