Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Many Japanese crafts are collectibles because they are based on tradition and attention to detail. This store is not large, but it has a wide variety of metalware (swords, knives, sundry), pottery, textiles, paper, ceramics from many, many regions of Japan. I have not had the opportunity to visit these remote regions, but this store displays and sells representative treasures. If you love crafts, plan a visit to this store.

This is a shop that sells many things produced in my home town of Nara. They have a good selection, so when you cannot go back to Nara, you may get the things you crave here.

Herzog & de Meuron, are the architects behind Omotesando’s Prada Building. The facade is amazing. And after their lights are on, it becomes more than amazing.

This cafe is operated as a sales promotion place. Mercedes-benz cars were exhibited at the place, and people took a demonstration drive with luxury cars. Cafe provides coffee menus and alcohols. Price was not affordable. But I enjoyed relax time with its comfortable atmosphere.

The Cover Nippon has eclectic and highly interesting collection of "Things Japanese" which, were it not a shop, would be a museum.

If you’re a model enthusiast, this is well worth the time and the short walk from the Shimbashi Station. It’s well-organized, which is good because the selection of different models is huge. If you’re from outside Japan, you’ll find things you simply can’t get in your home country. Even if you’re not planning on buying, the many displays of professionally built and painted models of every style is museum quality and worth the look. A bonus is the very cool and lively neighborhood you walk through between the station and the shop, especially early evening.

My understanding is that there is a drop every morning at some larger Department stores and if you miss it the stock is gone within minutes. This is how much Play is in demand. I love the concept of this rush.... after I was successful purchasing 5 pieces last trip! I raced at least 10 people into a department store in Kyoto soon as the doors opened. I only found out about this morning drop advice by asking questions myself. We need to remember there may be a language barrier when local advisors are trying understanding what we are seeking, we are in Japan after all. 👌🏻 It’s all part of the travel journey. ♥️ Play CDG

If not for the high prices, they would have got 5 stars from me...
Lots of great products from all over the world, but at a price.
Some vegetables are so expensive, but nowhere ells to be found...

Incredible selection and experience. I walked away very happy with my purchase, learned a lot, and have an heirloom now. Very polite and knowledgeable staff as well.

Ordered online, majority of the crucial info online is available in English. Speedy shipment, eye for detail as the packaging is a gift. Items are as described and to size. If you need tabi/kimono or traditional and fashionable japanese gear, this is your address

Absolutely the best place to buy pearls in Tokyo! I researched before my trip to find a great pearl seller at a good price point and was so excited to find this place. My experience in person was not only as wonderful as I had hoped - but absolutely beyond my expectations! I was immediately greeted by Dori who was wonderful. He walked me through all my options and really spent the time with me to ensure that I found a special piece to take home. I was astonished at how amazing the prices are here due to them being wholesalers - most wholesale shops in the US aren’t open to the public! I found a really gorgeous pearl that I cannot wait to take home with me. Thank you Amit Trading! Don’t miss this spot on your trip to Tokyo!

Also important note - I saw the other review about their hours. I think that’s incredibly unfair as they are evidently open during the hours listed on their site. They are upstairs, but it was VERY easy to find and WORTH IT!! Again, don’t miss this spot!

On this trip to Tokyo we decided to visit the Blue and White shop at its new location. Quite easy to find. It is a short walk from Azabujuban Metro Station (find a map which shows how to walk from the metro station to a small eliptical park on Daikokuzaka Street with a tiny statue of a girl at the far end of the park. The shop is in a building just beyond the park -- go towards a sign saying "Palette Plaza" on the far side of street, then keep going straight up from the statue end of the park and the Blue and White shop is on the left on the second floor at the top of a small escalator which is located at the far end of its building). The shop has a great selection of indigo-dyed fabric and items made from it, table linens, small fabric toys, women's clothing, and other items including ceramics, almost all in blue and white patterns. Lots of hand made items. The shop is not large, but there is plenty of opportunity to find unique, high-quality Japanese craft items for gifts. The lady working in the shop spoke a litte English and was delightful. It was a great experience. Afterwards this very nice area of Tokyo has lots of coffee shops and other food offerings for a snack or lunch.
