Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Takeshiba Pier Park is a good stroll away from JR/mono rail Hamamatsu Cho station. During the day, you can see Tokyo Bay's open space with pleasant breeze. This is a little port for boats leaving for Izu islands; plus their waiting area and a restaurant serving some local dishes of the islands are downstairs; and the viewing deck to see the whole bay area is upstairs. From the deck, you can see warehouses on the right, Rainbow Bridges on the far right and Fiji TV's earth-like-ball on the side of the building just behind it. Night view is also beautiful with all the apartment blocks' lights are all around the bay.

We took the metro and it was a long walk from the metro to the pier, but we wanted to go on a boat trip whilst in Japan so it was good to make the effort. There are several different trips to take and they leave at different times of the day - we just turned up and were willing to take pot luck. Our trip was £7 per person and was a 40 minute tour with a commentary, be aware though that it is mostly all Japanese with a little Englishand we passed by apartment blocks, offices, a temple and a shopping area

There is a café on site and an area overlooking the water to sit out if the weather is fine.

Brace yourself when you use the ladies toilet at the pier station. They are the dirtiest, smelliest toilets in the whole of Tokyo - quite nauseating.

The trip was good though and I would certainly recommend it

The wharf was fairly standard and not special enough to take a photo and the beach is fairly average as well. The area does provide some open spaces, a man-made sandy beach and the best of all view of Tokyo Bay and the Rainbow Bridge and of course the Statue of Liberty and if you are into odd architecture, the Fuji TV Building. Access is via Yurikamome Monorail from Shimbashi. Get off at Odaiba Station.
