Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- TonyLeyland, UK269 contributionsThe Leeds Liverpool is 127 miles long, so you have a lot to go at, but the stretch I'm commenting on is the Skipton stretch from the town centre. It's only minutes away you can boat it, you can walk it, you can ride it (bike not horse) a 15 minute walk will have in the wonderful countryside of Yorkshire and then turn around and visit Skipton for something to eatWritten 9 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Genevieve SAustralia4 contributionsGreat for families, couples and solos, nearly a mile’s walk around the Tarn; lots of ducks, geese and swans; a great playground for the kids; a bandstand and, quite often, an ice cream van.Written 29 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GGDalton-on-Tees, UK1 contributionAmazing nature protection with two hides for bird watchers, converge to Golden Acre Park with 2 car parks, one at Otley road, another at Arthington road. Well services coffee bar & toilet. Set interesting walking trails, well paved earth paths, very good for day out walking…Written 9 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Laura TMiddlesbrough, UK7,002 contributionsWe parked on a residential street near the golf course. We walked through the woods to the reservoir and then a long circular route (20kms) to Harewood House estate before returning along the far side of the reservoir (which added about an extra 6kms onto the walk).
Walking to the reservoir was along a lovely woodland path, which was very enjoyable. We then had a brief glimpse of the reservoir in the sunshine before following the route along cycle paths and across fields. We walked near to the Emmerdale set (but not close enough to be able to see anything) and then onto Harewood House grounds. We only saw deer in the distance but it was still a pleasant walk. Harewood House estate was quite busy, lots of people out walking and enjoying the lovely early October sunshine, but the rest of the walk was pretty quiet.
I was surprised that our views of the reservoir were so limited. So do not visit just for this. However, if you want a really lovely walk then this could be the area for you.Written 28 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. If I go to Birmingham you have Gas Street Basin ,if I go to Nottingham I have Castle Wharf and York has the River Ouse ,great places packed with pubs, bars and restaurants but Leeds still has a way to go ,crossing over Leeds Bridge you have great views of the River Aire but the old abandoned warehouse buildings look forlorn and empty, begging for rejuvenation, perfect for pubs, bars and restaurants, my home city of Liverpool regenerated the Royal Albert Dock and Pier Head complex after many years of neglect to make it the number one tourist attraction in Liverpool, I think with a bit of imagination, a lot of investment could see the banks of the River Aire a must go destination, lets hope so ,let's see what the future holds.Written 2 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
