Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visiting the Formentor Lighthouse is a must while staying in Mallorca. Drive carefully and keep in mind that this place cannot be accessed by car during the summer peak time only by small buses.
The view was great and the wind was heavy upon our visit in late October 2023.

I'm not sure if that's the rule, but the lighthouse was not open for visitation. The beach is very pretty though, and worth the drive.

Faro de Portopi is within the premises of a Spanish naval facility and not accessible to tourists. Notwithstanding that, my wife and I walked all the way from our cruise port in Majorca, Spain, on MSC Seaview in order to take a closer look at it. Having first visited, by climbing many stairs up, the even more famous lighthouse in Genoa (for six euros a person) a few days earlier as a port of call of our 7-day cruise on MSC Seaview, we were determined to get as close to it as we physically could. Though eventually barred from entry as part of this naval facility, we were able to approach a local overlook onto the deep blue Atlantic Ocean under a sunny sky..... As night fell with MSC Seaview sailing away from the Majorca, Spain, cruise port, I took many photos of that lighthouse as a reminder to myself that I had made my best efforts to get as close to it as humanly possible.

Great place to enjoy the view and also hit the hiking trail.
Go clockwise and you’ll have the bay in front of you
Most of the trail you’ll walk and balance on rock. We were fine with hiking sandals
Beginning and end is on the road
    Good portion is shaded
Park at the lighthouse, there is free parking, a bathroom, and a restaurant just a bit up the road

When you park at the lighthouse, you’ll get to enjoy the view across the bay. Well worth it! Even better, from here is where you can hit the trail!
