Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Steve TPreston, UK19,927 contributionsAn old house from a time when it was populated by one of the more wealthier residents of Alcudia. Now sympathetically converted into a town library and exceedingly large – it does provide for the needs of the many. All age groups seems to be catered for – though I didn’t find anything in any language other than Spanish – not a complaint !!
The library has retained some of the house’s original features which are great to see and it doesn’t take much imagination to mentally reconstruct and be impressed by the size, character and quality of the property.
It does have air conditioning and public toilets so at least some of non-Spanish speaking needs are addressed.
Well worth a quick look at least as you pass it by in the town centre.Written 5 July 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The lady could not have been more helpful, and her English was excellent. Unfortunately, council changes could mean the death of this tourist office. That would leave a massive hole for tourists' information. So, thank you for being so welcoming, and hope to pop in next time we're in Port Andratx.Written 30 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - saronicZurich, Switzerland26,274 contributionsOn ArtĂ 's central street Carrer Ciutat, almost opposite the main square Plaza del Conqueridor is a conspicuous stone house, surrounded by a terrace with a balustrade of the same style as by the eight stairs that lead up to it. The house has arched gates and windows of the same size, three on the ground floor, three on the upper floor. The French window in the middle of the upper floor leads to a balcony. On top of it under a gabled roof is a pediment with three smaller arched windows.
This grand house was built at the of the 19th century by an 'Indiano', as people were called, who had emigrated to America, made a fortune there and came home. The last private owner of the building donated it in 1984 to the municipality, who established in here an exhibition hall and the towns library, which is open to the public from Monday till Friday between 4pm and 7.30pm.Written 2 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
