- LauraSouthampton, UK13 contributionsA beautiful Greek structure, which was incredible to walk around and marvel at its size. Pricing was good for EU tourists under 25! The views of the island from this impressive landmark were stunning. The only shame was the giant sponsored scaffolding. Otherwise a lovely visit.Written 11 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- BkbakTempe, AZ1,442 contributionsCROWDED! However, still a nice street to enjoy. It is a tourist mecca but if you stop and look beyond the stores, you'll notice some beautiful side streets, balconies, and even ancient buildings that the stores are in.Written 25 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BkbakTempe, AZ1,442 contributionsWhat a wonderful plaza. Make sure to look out over the ocean for the vistas and down the coast in order to see Mt Etna. Sit a spell and watch the world go by in this classic plaza.Written 25 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Hamish T7 contributionsLast night we attended the Teatro San Giorgio in Taormina for a concert recital of operatic solos and duets by Soprano Claudia Ceraulo and Tenor Davide Benigno, who sang with enormous skill and passion. They were accompanied by pianist Antonio Gennaro who played with great sensitivity and panache. The concert was enjoyed enthusiastically by a large audience who were treated to a glass of Prosecco on the terrazzo overlooking the sea during intermission. All in all a charming evening, which I believe will be repeated with different programs every Wednesday over the winter and more frequently in the high season. - LauraSouthampton, UK13 contributionsA really beautiful beach, well worth the visit. My partner and I walked down from the high street, and took the shuttle bus back up. Definitely a work out for your legs!
The beach was relatively quiet due to the time of year, and there was only one salesman trying to sell an excursion.
Main thing to note is that it's a stony beach, so shoes are A MUST! And also there are jellyfish in the water!! I was surprised that there were no signs indicating this, but after speaking to locals, both types of jellies (brown and red) sting. You can get 'afterbite' in the local pharmacies, but I decided not to swim after that!
The island is very pretty to look at and explore. A really fun trip, provided you're aware of all of the above.Written 11 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You can’t go all the way up to the castle but the view from the little church is amazingWritten 14 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dot GPerth, Australia324 contributionsWe spent a few hours soaking up the sun here. There is a car service that drops you off and picks you up - total cost 9euro. The cafe is pretty basic but what you'd expect at a beach cafe. Tip - don't buy the cocktails - they taste like rocket fuel.Written 10 September 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Direct T3 contributionsWe visited La Dolce Vita 3 times whilst in Taormina. The lady owner sent transport for us to a small bar beside our Airbnb and dropped us back there which worked our really well. A comfortable minivan and the driver was always on time in both directions. Looking at various other beach clubs in the area, I would say that 25 Euros for two people was excellent value, that included transport to and from the beach, two sunbeds, one umbrella, beach towels, WIFI and a welcome fruit juice. The food was cooked to order and the house wine was excellent. The beach has more pebbles than sand, so I would recommend buying a pair of beach water shoes. If you require transport to and from La Dolce Vita, I would also suggest calling the day before to ensure it's available, otherwise you have a 20 minute walk from the bottom of the cable car along parts of a busy road. The owner of La Dolce Vita also has a wine bar in town, Enotica, which is worth a visit to sample a good selection of Sicilian wines.Written 18 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Megan8 contributionsWe fell in love with this historic villa - stunning ocean & Etna panoramas, lush gardens, & a truly peaceful vibe. The art history is incredible - don't miss the house tour! - laczkozsuDebrecen, Hungary1,680 contributionsSt. Joseph Church was built in 17th century. It’s located in the Piazza IX Aprile, near the simple Chiesa di Sant’Agostino (15th century), which is now a library. We took some photos outside with a fantastic, hilly background and climbed up the stairs to the church. It has an ornate rococo style interior, it’s worth a visit.Written 23 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - duhozBeroun, Czech Republic6,315 contributionsThe cathedral standing on beatifull square with a fountain, is dedicated to St. Nicolas but does not look like other cathedrals but more like fortress. The interior has a Latin cross with three naves and three apses. The nave is supproted by six columns of pink marble.
