Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In Italy, there are countless precious artworks in all forms. They can be fragile or vulnerable to human breathe. The Last Supper by Da Vinci is an example. The fact that the Italians choose to share and open for visitation so that visitors like you and I should not be taken for granted. A lot of them may be undergoing renovation and restoration so they may be closed. They may also occasionally open new things to public that may surprise you in different ways. For this reason, personally I treat encounters with these objects or artworks as once in a lifetime opportunity. They are precious, but you don't know if you will be able to see them again and again due to various reasons.

When you have an opportunity to see precious artwork like this, sometimes requires more work, but it's worth it.
More work means either making reservations in advance or long wait time or fees or physical energy.
Because Italy has so many attractions that fall into "popular" category, planning ahead definitely helps, but also be aware of additional effort required to.

This one falls into this description.

More work in this case: Making advance reservations isn't easy for visitors less than 10 people, literally impossible. They also are not responsive to email inquiries. Their online reservation system is difficult. The online information can be confusing too. I made so many inquires including filling out its webform and still got me nowhere. That's the very reason I am giving it a 4 instead of a 5 out of 5.

Thankfully, there is a workaround. You must go there in person, ask them at the ticket counter. They will share with you their upcoming guided tour in Italian and English for the day. If they have space available, you can make reservations and obtain tickets on spot. More administrative work. If they don't have availability, they may be able to help you find tickets for future dates. Please work with the ticket office staff to sort it out. The entire team there are nice and helpful. Most speak good English.

To see this place, you must join a guided tour offered by them. There is no other ways to do it. The maximum group size is capped at 10-15 or so.
    They do charge a fee.

Once you have gotten your ticket, then it's a smooth sailing towards the end.

They would give you an overview in a presentation room.
The frescos are in two levels. They thoughtfully built a scaffold so you could see these artworks at eye level, up close. The actual artwork is located on the 2nd and 3rd level. They give you 15 minutes on each level. Once 15 minutes is up, please respect their instruction and leave the current level to the other one. Once you are done seeing both levels, you are directed back to the ticket office area. That's the end of the tour.

There is no elevator, you must be able to climb stairs from the ground level up to three story high, if you can't, please do not sign up.

I personally suggest and recommend that you wear a mask to reduce human breath damaging artwork. But this is not mandatory when I was there.

This place is worth visiting. Highly recommend.

Good luck with making advanced reservations and getting tickets.

We visited Archea Brewery on consecutive nights and wished we had found it earlier. A terrific choice of craft beers, with the highlight being the Archea Black Tower IPA (6.2%). The bar staff were great and the locals and tourists very friendly.

If you want decent craft beer and a warm welcome in Florence, Archea Brewery is a must.

An amazing evening - the entertainment was truly enchanting! The operatic singing was beautiful and the pianist who accompanied the arias was truly talented. All this was enjoyed in the beautiful surroundings of the deconsecrated church, Santa Monaca in the heart of Florence.

The Brancacci Chapel is the reason most people come to the church, and it must be accessed from a door to the right of the facade. The church itself is not without interest. The baroque illusionistic ceiling is a wonder as are the wonderful side chapels. You can peek into the Brancacci from the church itself, but you really cannot see the frescoes well unless you book a ticket at the ticket booth for a separate entrance into the chapel. If you are going to the chapel itself, you would do well to catch the rest of the church.

Learning to make pasta was so much fun. I feel confident that I can replicate it at home! The recipes book will be very helpful, I'll likely laminate it! 😜 Our pasta chef, darling young woman whose name I sadly forgot, was terrific. I loved her playing technique! The pasta was fantastico! This is a great thing to do to break up visiting all the museums in Florence. You will be happy with this class!

An absolute must for anyone interested in anything Masonic. The owner is extremely passionate about Freemasonry and has collected items from all over the world. Following a quick talk and guided tour we were left to browse the immense collection which is housed over two floors. Part of the museum is set up as a Masonic Temple complete with a Chamber of Reflection.

It is well worth a walk down to this part of town as it is bereft of tourists which makes a nice change. We liked this church for its simplicity and that it looked like it’s primary purpose is for worship rather than tourism.

It is a typical Russian church . From far, one can see one large central onion-shaped dome and four smaller ones covered with bright turquoise, green and white scales of majolica, topped with gilt crosses and chains. The church was built on two storeys : the lower church was dedicated to St Nicholas and the upper church was dedicated to the Nativity.

The property is good value for money, a bit dated and basic, but clean with friendly, helpful stuff. It is a walking distance from tourist landmarks. It is located in residence area with many great restaurants with great Italian food.

Very expensive parking for cars in the neighborhood. So, if you can - do not come by car.

Located in the San Frediano district of Florence near the River Arno this small theatre (capacity approximately 140) started life as a small parish hall at the beginning of the 20th century. It developed into a theatre in the 1950's only to be devastated by the 1966 floods after which it remained closed for nearly 20 years until it reopened in 1985.

In 2008 the hall and foyer furnishings were completely renovated including the installation of modern padded armchairs covered in red material which gives the theatre a striking appearance.

We saw a concert for Ukraine there and the acoustics and view of the stage were very good. Airconditioning also worked well as it was exceedingly hot outside.

This was a fantastic tour of the market and nearby shops. With 8 stops to taste Florentine foods, wine, and coffee we learned a lot and ate well! Antonella was our guide. She was very knowledgeable and great with my son. If you want history along with local shops this tour is great!

This street runs south of the Pitti Palace, very narrow, but so interesting. Not very many tourists. Interesting shops. Yummy restaurants. Good shopping for all sorts of stuff you might not think you need.
The Porta Romama gate is amazing to see . This walk was a great adventure.
