Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visiting the Pisa is a must see if you are in the area and have time, we caught the train from Bologna via Florence, you turn the corner and this massive elegant tower greets you, I found it quite surreal, it’s relatively inexpensive to go up the tower but it’s not for the faint hearted my husband gave it a miss, it’s very confined, and coming down in a queue of people exiting made it feel like the tower was shaking on every step as there was so many of us trying to exit at the same time,

This beautiful old church sits right next to the tower, which was built as a bell tower for the church. It’s an impressive church and the open space around it really makes it stand out to the eye.

This is a pretty big building just for baptisms. It’s in the complex with the leaving tower. It looks very well maintained. If you go to see the tower you will see it.

Composanto was the final structure to be built on the Piazza del Duomo, after the cathedral, the baptistery, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

The cemetery was built in 1277 and, during the Middle Ages, prominent local people were buried here. The earth here was carried back from Palestine and earned the name camposanto beause it was considered a “holy field.”

You will find Frescoes, Sepulchral Monuments and Archaelogical collection.

Worth a visit when visiting the Leaning Tower and The Cathedral as they are all close by.

We went a walk around pisa at sunset and walked through this square, it was so beautiful to see the sun hitting the beautiful architecture.
If you like architecture then this is a must-see, the detail on some of the buildings is amazing!
It's definitely worth going for a little wander around pisa, especially at night.

Beautiful small church by the river on the way to central Pisa. Has a Chapel vibe. Worth visiting and taking pictures too

Literally walked past this, and was pleasantly surprised at how fresh and vibrant it is. If you are in the area it is worth a visit.

This narrow street connects the river Arno and the piazza Garibaldi with the rest of the northern part of the city. I went back to Pisa for a day after 4 years and I enjoyed walking under the arches again.

Basilica romanics di San Piero a Grado is a church located near Pisa, in the place, where according to the legend, St. Peter landed in Italy, so it is a very important place for Christians. Nowadays, there is not coast here, because in the last twenty centuries, the coast go to Marina di Pisa. The building is a big Roman church built in the 11-12th Centuries in the old port of Pisa. If you enter, really it is impressive. Very interesting place for history-lovers.

Although the full length of the wall wasn't open, €3 was a very reasonable price to be able to walk the part of the wall that is open. Great view of the Piazza dei Miracoli, but also things you can't see from the Piazza, such as the Jewish cemetery, and also (a bit randomly!) three military jet planes at I.I.S.L. da Vinci-Fascetti

We love marina di Pisa as a place to casually stroll by the sea, taste some nice restaurants without a haste and thousands of tourists.

The view of the riverside streets was quite pretty by night, but by day a bit less so as the river banks are a bit scruffy, which you don't really see so much at night.

This is the main shopping street where you can find many different shops, restaurants, cafes, and gelaterias. I like gelateria which is near Garibaldi's monument (it is twice cheaper than near the tower).
From the airport, the beginning of this street (Central station) is 15-20 minutes by foot.

The historic center of Pisa is very interesting and is not limited to the Piazza dei Miracoli and the Leaning Tower. There are many more interesting narrow streets, churches and even large squares that are worth exploring.
