Fantastic day to really get out and see the xountryside and towns of Crete. Our mulir lingual guide, Petra, was fantastic and enthused us all on her live of Crete. Zeus cave very interesting but unless you can do hundreds of step arderous steps up and down may not be for you.

Great little boat trip lasting approx one hour, seeing a multitude of caves across the panorama coastline. Top tier captain.

Completed 4 day Open Water certification last week at 53 years alongside my 13 year old daughter. Challenging but recommended - the group here at Stay Wet are charming & inspiring. Our teacher Alex was patient and detailed. Great place to dive & to learn.

Yesterday I went on a half a day trip from Kalyves around the coast of Chania and surroundings, stopping three times for a swim in the crystal clear blue and green water. We were also given the opportunity for snorkeling to see the many fish swimming there. We were given snacks, fruit and drinks. It was a gorgeous trip. Fotini and Yannis are a charming couple, very professional, but at the same time super friendly and caring. Yannis’s English was perfect, very easy to understand. I can only recommend this wonderful experience!

Can't recommend Pelagos Dive Centre enough for their Discover scuba diving experience. Everyone that we spoke to and dealt with was so friendly, helpful and fun, from booking via the phone to arrival and the course itself. Safety is definitely key to this dive centre but they also want you to feel comfortable at every stage and to love it as much as they do. Every step was clearly explained and there was absolutely zero pressure to push or rush. Ellie our instructor was amazing - there was just myself and partner on the dive with her and we both loved the experience. If we'd have had time we'd have both loved to be able to go and do the deeper dive that they offer after this experience dive.

I did 13 dives over a week in October with Dimitris and his team at Evelin Dive Center. It was a truly amazing week.

I went to the phenomenal Elephant Cave twice - including one more bespoke dive with Dimitris. I did five night dives including 3 as part of the PADI Night Diver Course: the octopi at night were incredible! The other day dives were fabulous too - finding unusual nudibranchs and incredibly ancient clay pottery and stone anchor. And nothing was too much trouble for me as a solo diver rather than a member of a larger group: I asked to go to the South Coast for two nights dive and - hey presto - that happened, just for me and my dive leader.

All of the dive leaders were superb and, unusually for a dive shop, most of them were in fact instructors rather than dive masters.

The standard of teaching was superb: my night dive instructor was superbly safety conscious and a brilliant diver, and I observed a teenager doing his Open Water, Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver Courses back-to-back: his teaching too was absolutely faultless.

They are very safety conscious: check-out dives are the norm, and they refuse to take divers on dives that they are not qualified to do - regardless of how many dives they have on their log books.

Families are well looked after, as are snorkellers: my 80 year old mother joined me for one day, and she had the time of her life snorkelling. The dive leader looking after her (again another instructor) cared for her 1:1 in stupendous fashion, even fitting her with a BCD on backwards so that she could enjoy maximal snorkelling time with minimal energy expenditure.

I brought my own equipment but I looked at their own equipment and it was all high spec, optimally maintained and stored in an amazingly organised fashion.

Their speed boats are amazing. The level of service on the boats is first class. And the snacks - endless fresh local bread snacks, fresh fruit and tonnes of chilled bottled waters - are incredible. Yum!

The whole operation is incredibly professional yet still hyper friendly. I felt like part of the team from Day 1.

I had such a good experience that I am now approaching Evelin with a view to going back to do my instructor training in a few months' time. And I will certainly be returning as a normal diving punter again too.

I have been diving for over 20 years and I have never experienced anything like this dive before. Absolutely exhilarating. Stunning stalactites and stalagmites, especially when you consider where you are and how you got there. The entry and exit looked psychedelic in complete darkness, only lit by individual divers’ torches, which were provided to us. All the colours of the rocks just glowed. None of my photos inside the cave do it justice, not even the one of the spectacular blue wall of light at the exit. I’ve simply never seen anything like it. As for the main event… Wow. Just wow. The fossilized Elephant molars and leg bones on the cave floor were pointed out by the dive leaders in case anyone didn’t see them. The legs were unmistakable, but I hadn’t realized what the molars were, so I appreciated this extra bit of care. David and Matthew will have seen them a thousand times, but still took the time to make it special for everyone. They really looked after us underwater. Previously, I have Always been right on the fin of the diver in front of me. This time, I was so overwhelmed, I dawdled underwater for the first time in my life, and nearly started to follow the wrong group. The instructors were straight on me, pulling my ankle to set me straight. Even though there were only 8 of us, there was an instructor at the front and the back of the group, which was lucky for me.

On the first dive of the day, the Lighthouse Wall, a Lionfish a Grouper were pointed out to me. The latter looked like a golden iridescent tiger. They were so much more vivid than any pictures I have seen, yet I would not have seen either without the generosity of the staff. They spent a lot of time signing logbooks afterwards, which I also really appreciated.

The two dives were geographically side by side, so the boat stayed moored in the same place. There was a substantial snack between dives, but divers might want to bring their own water. Also, those accustomed to setting up their own gear might want to ask which set is theirs as soon as they board the boat. I tried on wetsuits at the dive shop, but the first time I saw my gear was when I was putting it on. A first for me, but after a quick check, it was all fine.

It was lucky it worked out ok, but on the wetsuit front (I’m so sorry, but I can’t not mention this), people of a small build, be aware that the smallest adult wetsuit is a Small. There is nothing in between something for an 11-year old (or maybe it was 14) and the Adult Small. The child wetsuit was visibly not going to be long enough, even though I am only 5’2”, so I didn’t try it, although they were happy to bring it on the boat for me. They had 2 different styles of Adult Small, but both were too big for me. I am a UK Size 8 in clothes, so I normally wear an XS wetsuit. I had told Omega all my sizes twice: once when I initially booked several months beforehand and again about a week before the dive. It wouldn’t have been a deal breaker if I’d known in advance, and still wouldn’t be now, but I wish they had mentioned they don’t have XS. Fortunately, given the time of year, the bottom temperature was 24 degrees, and the overwhelming beauty of it all, I didn’t feel too cold during the dive, but I started to shiver during my ascent. I was offered a towel on the boat, which was really sweet of them, because by then I was really shaking. I declined, because we were rocketing along and it was at the far end of the boat, and I didn’t feel it would be right to ask someone to stand up to get it for me, but I appreciated the gesture. On that sort of note, there were lockers, but only one toilet at the dive centre in which to change. There were not any showers.

The other thing that went really well was that I requested a pick up and drop off from Kalyves. I did wind up calling them that morning, just to be sure I was standing in the right place, but if anything it went smoother than expected. This was perfect in both directions. The van was full of divers on the way to to dive centre, with some going on a different dive, but Omega didn’t bat an eye when I was the only one who needed a lift back to Kalyves.

I can’t recommend the Elephant Cave enough. Despite the wetsuit thing, I’d still choose Omega again. As the cave is only accessible from the sea, and the boat ride from Almyrida was only about 10 minutes, they are the most likely to actually get you there. Given the care and attention and kindness of the staff, I’d dive with them again in a heartbeat.

Me and my family did the jet boat trip last year and everyone had so much fun. We stayed at Stella Palace and it was very easy to book. We got the free transfer from the hotel and back which was great. The trip was lots of fun, with lots of spins that make big splashes! Then we stopped for swimming and they provided snorkels so we could see the fish in the water around the bay. Where they stop the boat there's a small cave that you can swim to which is nice. I would recommend this trip to everyone and would definitely come back again!

Can’t recommend this trip enough. We always do boat trips where ever we holiday in the Greek islands, and this was a fantastic day. Nikos suggested we join another couple for a semi-private trip, and I think having 4 of us was perfect (see their review below!) a chance to relax, make new friends and enjoy the day.

Firstly the boat was immaculate, I have never been on such a beautiful clean and comfortable boat. With 4 (or even if you were 6) there there is space to stretch out without feeling like you are stopping others from doing the same (I’ve been on others that say ‘luxury sailing yacht’ and you can’t even lie down to sunbathe without being in someone’s way).

Secondly the drinks and food, constant offers of water/beer/wine and snacks. Plus a lovely lunch of pasta/salad and home-made meatballs (Auntie dies a great job).

The sailing was fun, the stops and the clear blue sea beautiful. Nikos was so knowledgeable about the area, the history, and also other places to visit on this lovely island.

If you get the chance book your trip you will not regret it. It really did feel like a special day out.

Great staff - very knowledgeable and helpful. Didn’t overcharge for drinks and snacks on board. Beautiful scenery and the sea was amazing! Would have given 5 but us polite English waited last to pick our snorkels ended up with the worst bits! Apart from that it was a great trip and we recommended to fellow hotel guests.
