Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great museum, and a must see while visiting New Orleans. There is so much to see here so it was very overwhelming and there is no way you would be able to see everything in one day. The restaurant was great also, the only negative thing was that it was very hard to navigate. It wasn't clear which direction you should go next and I missed some sections of the museum because of this.

Worth every penny. Loads to do and see. It is a humbling day out. Probably not the best if you have restricted mobility due to steep stairs and narrow passageways. Also if you’re claustrophobic it might not be the best especially on the submarine. Exceptional experience and I have absolutely no faults. There are veterans there who have served on the ship and can give excellent insights.

Deep dive into artifacts, while a timeline takes you through the "center" of the museum. Complex story, with the second half more focused on US involvement. Lots of displays and easy to miss rooms and the basement displays. A portion of the museum was closed for renovations or a new display, which was a disappointment. Lots of volunteers available to answer questions. How did actions in 1918 impact the world today? Many, many ways.

This is a hidden gem and should be given a visit. This activity can be enjoyed by all. If you are lucky you might even get to see the Blue Angeles practice.

We took a 90+ minute tour of the USS Yorktown. Ad (?) was our tour guide. He was extremely knowledgable and entertaining. Answered all questions and we never felt rushed. The ship is HUGE - I highly recommend you pay for the tour. The tour guide let us know what we hadn't seen at the end of the tour so we could explore on our own.

We visited here independently, not with a tour

Lots to see here besides just the US S Alabama. The airplane hanger is full of uniforms aircraft, vehicles, photographs, and other assorted items of the US armed forces. For additional cost, you can also use a virtual reality station. I thought the gift shop was relatively expensive however, I recognize that maintaining such a facility is also very expensive. Surprise, interesting item was the confederate states submarine that has been refurbished and has been put on display

Best aviation museum! It's a must see. Tom is one of the best tour guides. You'll never see anything else like it! Your kids will love it. You get up close and personal to real ww ll aircraft.

Fredericksburg is a great place to visit and with this museum it makes a visit there even better. The museum offers a great history of the events that took place in the Pacific during WW2. This was very informative. If you were not aware, the battle in this area was waged long before the US got involved (via Pearl Harbor). Did you know that nearly 20,000,000 Chinese died in the war? It was great hearing the background on many of the battles and names that are part of our history. In conjunction with this museum is the Admiral Nimitz Gallery, housed in the location that Nimitz grew up at. On the grounds outside there are several nice places to visit, including the Peace Garden, Plaza of the Presidents and the Memorial Courtyard.

Although the Lexington was decommissioned today, it participated in many important naval operations during World War II. Although it suffered many serious attacks during World War II, it was still able to be repaired and returned to combat in a short period of time.
Learn about the history of the aircraft carrier, visit exhibits and exhibits on the ship, and participate in a variety of activities and experiences.

I’m a U.S. Navy Veteran and as such it was a an immensely satisfying experience. We were unable to visit the Iowa last time we visited Los Angeles. Last year we booked a Panama Canal cruise and found a great opportunity to visit the Iowa. We went a couple days early and stayed at a hotel nearby with free shuttle service to various places which included the Iowa. My cousin and her husband and my husband and I traveled together so they joined us. While I’m sure the general access pass is great, we booked a private tour. If you really want a more in depth deep dive into the history of the ship, crew, and mission then the private tour is the way to go. My husband indulges me on these types of tours and thankfully he hasn’t been disappointed, yet. Our very knowledgeable guide (so sorry I can’t recall his name) brought every aspect of the ship to life. One note: I’ve noticed some review comments about the size of the ship not being as large as they thought. One must keep in mind that it is not a ginormous cruise ship made for pleasure ship, but rather a ship of war. It is an impressively large and complex vessel built for one purpose only, to intimidate and destroy the enemy! On another note, our party had two big (not necessarily large men) and we really had no trouble getting in and around the ship. Again, the ship was not meant for comfort. Hence the designation battleship! All in all, despite the terrible weather, it was a fantastic experience that anyone interested in history would enjoy.

For many years we drove past this museum that is next to Dover AFB on Rt-1, but never stopped. Yesterday we decided to visit. We met up with John, our tour guide who spent more than 3 hours with us and showed us most of the planes on exhibit with terrific descriptions and history behind each plane. Definitely going back to revisit and pickup what we missed. Special thanks to our tour guide who was fantastic.

We went here when our son graduated from basic training at Fort Moore. Amazing museum especially if you love combat history. I am not a huge fan of military history but this museum kept me interested. My husband and soon were huge fans of the museum

This tour was worth every penny spent and every mile driven to get there! Anyone who is a fan of history in general (and military history in particular) will be blown away by this expertly guided journey back to a darker time in America when the world was just the turn of a key away from annihilation. After you've done the tour, go back home and watch the first 10 minutes of the movie "War Games" again. You'll appreciate the story line a lot more.

Located about 30 minutes south of the center of Virginia Beach, this impressive museum contains over 70 vintage aircraft (most are still flying) in several large hangars. Our guided tour was terrific — interesting and quite comprehensive. Also onsite are buildings from England and Germany that were deconstructed then rebuilt in Virginia Beach.
